Today is my Mom's birthday! Check out the card I made for her.
I used Spellbinders Create a Rose die and made this rose (see further below for the bud I made using the same die). I die cut the petals and leaves using the die, and then I did some distress ink blending along the outer edges of the petals and leaves to give a bit more texture. I followed the directions on the die set, and die cut 12 petals of each size, ink blended the edges, and gave some texture by bending the petals with the barrel of a small paint brush, and then glued on the petals to the flower base. I adhered all the pieces together with Nuvo's Deluxe Adhesive.
I also die cut out the "happy" using Alt E New's Happy Die. I die cut four of them in red, stacked them up, and glued them all together with Nuvo's Deluxe Adhesive. Then, I die cut another one with white cardstock, and adhered it to the top of the stack offset a bit to give a bit of a red shadow. Afterwards, I swiped my Wink of Stella glitter pen across the die to give it some extra sparkle!
Here is the bud I made using the Spellbinder's Create a Rose die. I cut 12 of the smallest petals and ink blended the edges and shaped them. I adhered them with the Nuvo's Deluxe Adhesive and adhered a bud to each edge of the bud.
To give this card a little extra dimension and oomph, I die cut four layers of the Tonic Die Budding Vine Patterned Panels die. I adhered them all together with my Nuvo's Deluxe Adhesive. I also die cut some ovals with the Tonic Die Layering Basics Die Set Mixed Edge Oval die. I cut another layer of the Tonic Die Budding Vine Patterned Panels die and then cut it with the oval die too and layered this up to give the rose area a bit of a framing. I also cut out some flourishes with a flourish die from my stash, using gold paper.
And, to finish it off, I stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment from Taylored Expression's Friendly Phrases stamp set in Versamark Ink and sprinkled on Red Apple embossing powder. I also stamped some flourishes from Sparkle N Sprinkle's Flourishes 1 stamp set in light red ink to give a hint of a flourish border.
I really hope Mom likes this card. She loves flowers, and this was my first time using this Rose die. It came together fairly well, and I like all the dimension and textures. Happy Birthday my wonderful Mommy! May you have many more! I love you!!
Thanks for stopping by. Have a magical day!
