Here is my card that I made with the Light Up My Life stamp set. I am old enough to remember the song from the 70s about You Light Up My Life ... and when I saw this stamp set, I could hear the song in my mind, and I wanted to LIGHT UP these lights! Let's check out the card!
I stamped out the image in black pigment ink, then sprinkled on Clear Detail embossing powder and then heat set it. I also stamped out the sentiment the same way below the light image.

I colored the lights and background. to make them even more sparkly, I applied adhesive with my Fine Nuvo Glue Pen, and sprinkled on Evening Glow glitter to the light bulb elements, and Sonic Silver glitter to the light bulb base.

I wanted to highlight the "You" in the sentiment. I stamped out the sentiment a second time on red cardstock, using Versamark Ink Pad. I sprinkled on White Detail embossing powder and heat set it. Then, I die cut it with a heart die. I layered it over the sentiment below and lined it up to match the sentiment below. I layered the card panel over Gold Mirror Cardstock to make it even more gold and fun.

And, the final part of the card, which made it really fun to make and looks even cooler in person .... is that it LIGHTS UP! Check this out!

To make it light up, I adhered copper wire tape to my card base, and attached Chibitronic mini lights. Here is a photo of what the copper wiring looked like and the battery to power the card lights.

Here is a photo of what it looks like with the lights lit up. I designed the card to light up when I pushed on the battery, which is conveniently under the "You" heart of the sentiment!

This card was tons of fun, and I love how it lights up. This Light Up My Life set is really creative and fun.

The next stop on our blog hop is Shona... She has an incredible card in store for you, I know you will LOVE it!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a magical day!

Sparkle N Sprinkle Winter Blue Jay Card [11.30.2016]

Here is another card using one of Sparkle N Sprinkle's new releases for November. My fellow SNS designers have created the most amazing cards and projects this month and they are all so beautiful and inspirational! They inspire and motivate me every day! For today's card, I stepped outside of my comfort zone and created a watercolored background and stamped over it. Let's peek at the card.
To start, I spritzed on two Nuance Powders, in Turquoise and Royal Blue colors. Then, I spritzed on some water which made the powders change to color and it was so cool! Very colorful! Then, I dried it with  my heat tool, and then I stamped the Winter Blue Jay stamp the bird in black ink over the colored background. I sprinkled on Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set it. After this, I used my Fine Nuvo Glue Pen and then adhered glitter strategically over the bird. I used Jasper Blue, Denim, Surf glitters.
For the sentiment, I stamped out the sentiment in black ink and again used Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set it, over more of the watercolored background. I die cut out the sentiment and framed it with a larger die cut.
Another thing I did was to do an inlaid die cut / distressed edge around the bird. I die cut out the bird with a frame die, and then used an embossing folded to give some wood grain texture to the outer part of the card panel. I swiped my Versamark Ink Pad along the other edges of the bird frame die and the inside edge of the outer piece of cardstock. I sprinkled on Sky Blue Spark embossing powder and heat set it. You can see the embossing powder here.
I also decorated up the tree that the bird is sitting on. I used my Fine Nuvo Glue Pen to add adhesive to the tree, and sprinkled on Rose Gold and Lator Gator to brighten up the tree. I love it!
This Winter Blue Jay stamp set is gorgeous! I am in awe of all the cards that the SNS designers made this month using it. If you haven't yet, go through this month's Sparkle N Sprinkle blog posts and check out this gorgeous stamp used in multiple ways. You will be inspired!

Thanks for stopping by.

Ballooney Birthday! [11.28.2016]

Hi! Today's card is a birthday card I made for a good friend. Let's say howdy!

I used Lawn Fawn's Party Animal stamp set, and stamped out the balloons and overlapped them. I added some Wink of Stella to the balloons, then covered with Glossy Accents. They were really sparkly!

I also stamped out the fox. I colored him with Copic markers, and stamped out the party hat and present from the set too. I die cut them out using Lawn Fawn's Party Animal Lawn Cuts die cuts. I also covered the hat and present with Glossy Accents to make it have some dimension and give it some shine. Once I had the images stamped and colored, I masked them off with postit note paper, and splattered some ink to the card front too to give it more of a festive feel!

I also stamped some images to the inside. I stamped the confetti and the happy birthday sentiment.

Fun, easy, cute birthday card. I hope my friend likes it.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a magical day!

Candy Box [11.25.2016]

Hi! Today's project is not a card ... it is a box to hold some candy :) Let's meet it!

I used Sparkle N Sprinkle's Crystal Carousel Box die and cut it out with patterned paper. I also die cut out the inserts on each panel with other patterned paper and layered it up. Here is another shot of the box showing the side panels.

Here is the box after I put it all together, but not quite closed yet. It was easy to close, but it took me a few tries to make sure I got the tabs in the right order. It sure was fun to put together!

Here is the inside of the box with the candy that I put inside it.

This was a fun and easy gift box to pull together. I can't wait to make another box with this die!.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a magical day!

Sparkle N Sprinkle Christmas Tag #2 [11.23.2016]

Hi! Okay, so I really like Sparkle N Sprinkle's November release stamps, and today's card uses the incredible Christmas Tag #2 stamp set. Let's check it out.
I stamped out the snowman tag in black ink, then sprinkled Clear Detail embossing powder over it, and heat set it. I colored the image with water colors, and then die cut out the tag into a circle. Then, I began working on the card front. I scraplifted an idea from Demo Donna. (She makes incredible creations!) Demo Donna's video for the October Video Kit Club demonstrates how to make a background using the Nuvo Glue Pen Large and Gilding Flakes. I followed her lead, and I swiped the Nuvo Glue Pen Large over the snowflake tag in the Christmas Tag #2 stamp set. I stamped out the image repeatedly along the edges of the gate fold card front and let the glue dry until it was tacky. Then, I dumped on the Silver Bullion Nuvo Gilding Flakes, and rubbed in the flakes into the tacky glue. I burnished it in, then brushed off the left over flakes. This made a really fun pattern on my card front. Here is what it looked like.
I also die cut out a scalloped circle, and repeated the same process. I swiped the Nuvo Glue Pen Large over the scalloped edge and let it dry. Once it was tacky, I dumped on the Silver Bullion Nuvo Gilding Flakes, and rubbed in the flakes into the tacky glue. I burnished it in, then brushed off the left over flakes. I used this to mat the shaker circle, and I also did the same process on the top circle of the shaker.
To make the shaker, I started creating more circle "frames" by die cutting paper using two circle dies taped together and cut about 10 of them so I could stack them up to create dimension for the shaker components. I also die cut two circles in Embossable Clear Acetate. I stacked and adhered about five of the circles into a stack, and adhered it over the snowman circle tag. I then added in clear star sequins and adhered one of the acetate circles over it. Then, adhered and stacked the rest of the circle frames. I added in purple beads and sealed it shut with the second piece of acetate. Then, to finish it off, adhered the silver embossed circle on top. You can see in the photo below the two different layers of the shaker sequins and beads. I also stamped out the "to" and "from" sentiments using Versamark Ink Pad, and heat embossed Sonic Silver embossing powder. I fussy cut them out and adhered these to the acetate part of the shaker.
This was really fun to make. I like the looks of the double shaker and think I will try it again! I hope you enjoyed it and will try Demo Donna's background stamp gilding flake technique. Thanks Demo Donna for the inspiration!!

Purse Gift Bag [11.21.2016]

Hi! Today's card is not a card . . . it is a purse gift bag! Let's check it out.

I die cut out the purse from Sparkle N Sprinkle's Purse die. I used a sparkly green paper for the purse, and then used a silver sparkle paper for the insert behind the purse front and the tags. I also die cut out the clasp area and adhered on a large gem in the center. This really made it come together!

Here is the purse from the top. It has enough of an opening and was perfect for the little giftie I slipped inside for my friend.

Birthday Gift Bag ... Quick & Easy! [11.18.2016]

Hi! Today project is a pretty simple gift bag. Let's check it out.

I used a Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid 12x12 patterned paper for the bag and then punched it out with the gift bag punch board. I then stamped out the "happy birthday" sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Chit Chat stamp set. Then, I die cut it out with the coordinating Chit Chat lawn cuts.

I adhered the retro lady acrylic sticker I had in my stash, added some ribbon to the top of the bag, and was done.

This came together really fast and I loved it.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a magical day!

Sparkle N Sprinkle Stella Grinch [11.16.2016]

Happy Holidays from Designer Chris! Who doesn't love Stella? She makes me smile and when I saw this new Stella Dear Santa in the November release, I just had to have her :) Let's see what I did.
Stella definitely wasn't a good girl this year, and Santa probably won't be visiting her. She reminded me of the Grinch, so I had to make her green as an homage to one of my favorite holiday characters! I used the Nuvo Glue Pen Fine and rolled on glue to her hat. I sprinkled on Margarita glitter. Then, more glue pen on her hat ruff, and sprinkled on Exhilarated Green glitter. These two greens together were the perfect Grinch colors!
I die cut some snowflakes and jazzed them up. I used my finger tool, and burnished on some of the Pure Platinum Nuvo Embellishment Mousse on some of the snowflakes and Blue Topaz Nuvo Glimmer Paste on others. I used Brushable Glue and adhered the snowflakes to my background. Here is what the snowflakes looked like.
I added some texture to my background. I stamped the Crackle Background with Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with White Detail embossing powder. Then, I placed some strips of Double sided "Tear-ific" Tape over the background. I laid out a strip from the 1/8", 1/4" and 1/2" Double sided "Tear-ific" Tapes. I burnished in Gypsy Red, Margarita, and Evening Glow glitters in the tape strips.
I rolled out more Nuvo Glue Pen Fine and rolled on glue to the "Dear Santa" part of the letter. I added Gypsy Red glitter to make it a bit more fun. Here it is.
I also decorated the ornaments. Whipped out the trusty Nuvo Glue Pen Fine and used it to add adhesive to the ornaments. I sprinkled on Gypsy Red and Margarita glitters to them.
Here is another shot of the card. Stella makes me happy, even though she is so grumpy and grinchy! So fun and funny!

I hope you enjoyed this. I had a lot of fun making it.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a magical day!

Sparkle N Sprinkle Festive Lantern in Frame [11.14.2016]

Hi! Today's card is one of my cards showcasing one of Sparkle N Sprinkle's new November release stamps. I used the new Festive Lantern stamp set. Let's peek at the card I made showcasing this fun stamp set!

For this card, I stamped out the lantern image with Versamark Ink and sprinkled on Tuscan Sun embossing powder and heat set it. I die cut the cardstock into an oval. Then, started decorating things up! I wanted the candle to be soft but vibrant. I used markers to add some light behind and around the candle, and then I did something kinda fun and different ... I layered up some embossing powders! I started out by rolling on some adhesive with the Nuvo Glue Pen Fine and dusted on Mediterranean embossing powder and heat set it. Then, I re-rolled out more Nuvo Glue Pen Fine and added more embossing powder. But this time I used Blue Silver embossing powder and heat set it over the original layer. This gave some extra depth to my candle. Then, I squeezed on the Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops over the candle to give it some oomph and shine. I also dabbed on some of the Ripened Pumpkin Nuvo Crystal Drops to the flame. Then, I added in a little squeeze of Dandelion Yellow Nuvo Crystal Drops to the inside part of the flame. Here is what the candle looked like, after all this fun treatment!
To give this card a background and frame it, I decided to use the trusty and awesome Kiss Cut technique. I cut a piece of cardstock, and covered it with strips of 2-1/2" Double sided "Tear-ific" Tape. Then, I ran this through my die cut machine and pulled away the release paper that was cut out. Here is what it looked like at this stage.
I rubbed in Night Sky Sparkle N Soft into these negative areas that I revealed by removing the release paper. This is what it looked like at this stage, before burnishing in the Night Sky Sparkle N Soft.
After I finished burnishing in the Night Sky Sparkle N Soft, I pulled away the rest of the release paper and revealed the actual shape of the frame. I burnished in Ocean glitter into the spaces that were revealed. Here is a close up of what the frame looked like after the kiss cut technique! So pretty :)
I also stamped out the sentiment in Versamark Ink and sprinkled on Black Detail embossing powder and heat set it. Then, I cut it into a rectangle. I swiped on a bit of Nuvo Glue Pen Fine and dusted on Ocean glitter along the edges. This made it connect to the frame as well. And to make it more fun, I squeezed on some Ebony Black Nuvo Crystal Drops along the outsides of the sentiment panel. I also highlighted the "light" in the sentiment with a yellow marker.
This was a really fun card to make and I love how versatile this stamp set is. Let's peek at it one more time for good measure!
I hope you enjoyed this card.

Layered Flowers Birthday Card {11.11.2016}

Hi! Today's card is a birthday card for a friend who loves flowers. She is a papercrafter, so there is always added pressure to come up with something that is pretty enough and nice enough for her! Yikes, the pressure was on. I made layered flowers for her, using Alt E New's Beautiful Day stamp set. Here is the card!

Since this is a layering stamp, I started with the lightest ink, and the "background" image of the stamp. In this case, it is the solid flower background, that I stamped out in light pink. I continued stamping the next layer up and each time, used a darker color. This made the flowers have a lot of depth and texture. I also did the same procedure with the leaves, using the layering stamps and a light and darker green ink colors. I also squeezed on a dollop of gold enamel dot drops for the center of the flowers. And, a spritz of gold splatters topped it all off!

I stamped out "birthday" from Lawn Fawn's Big Scripty Words, heat embossed it with Sparkle N Sprinkle's Black Detail embossing powder, and die cut it with Lawn Fawn's Big Scripty Words Lawn Cuts. I also stamped out "Happy" above the birthday, from one of Lawn Fawn's stamp sets too. Here is what the sentiment looked like.

The inside of the card was pretty simple. I stamped out one of the floral images from Alt E New's Beautiful Day stamp set in light pink along the edges of the inside. I also used the same stamp set's sentiment for the inside too. I hope my friend likes this! I really enjoyed making it and I love the pink and gold together.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a magical day!
