Sparkle N Sprinkle Doctor at Heart card

Hi! Today's card is another new release from Sparkle N Sprinkle, for November. This one is so sweet, it is "Doctor at Heart" stamp set. I used the digi version, and I chose the pre-colored image which freed up my time to bling it up instead of doing a lot of coloring first. Let's peek at this card!

I sized the digital image on my computer, and then printed it with my color printer. I die cut the image with a banner die. I also blended on some blue distress ink to the edges. I then swiped the Nuvo Clear Mark embossing pen along the outer edge, sprinkled on Sapphire embossing powder and heat set it. I also used the Nuvo Smooth Precision Glue Pen to roll on some adhesive along the edges and folds of the boy's clothes. I sprinkled on Sunset glitter for his hair, Butterscotch glitter for his shirt, and Rapture Blue for his shorts. I also added a wee bit of red, using Gypsy Red glitter, to the heart on his stethoscope. I layered a piece of Sticker Paper behind the banner shape, trimmed it, and then sprinkled on Sunset glitter as a frame.

I also die cut some cardstock using my Tonic Tangerine and the Tonic ARchway Stripe Invite Insert die set. I spritzed on some Nebula Blue mica mist to give it some dimension, and squeezed on some White Blizzard glitter drops.

I printed out a sentiment, cut it into a fish tail shape, inked the edges, and cut another fish tail banner shape to frame it. I layered these two together, adhered them under the panel edge, and added more White Blizzard glitter drops.

I colored a card base with Nuvo Custard Cream and Pacific Teal embellisment mousses. I just swirled some colors around until I had enough color to give it some depth and fun. I then spritzed the card panel with Nebula Blue mica mist. I also sprinkled on some Super Thick Silver and Sapphire embossing powders and heat them set as well. I layered everything together, and this card was done!

This was a really fun card to make. I really like using pre-colored digi stamps. Sparkle N Sprinkle includes both a pre-colored and non-colored image so you can do what makes you happy with these digi stamps. And they can be sized to whatever you want. So easy and fun!

Copic markers

I stamped out the bride in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink with my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and then colored her with Copic markers. I placed the image back inside my Stamp Platform and inked up the stamp again with Versafine Black Onyx ink and restamped the image exactly over the original image. (Copic markers can smear Versafine Black Onyx ink so if I plan to use Copic markers, I stamp the image first with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then overstamp with Versafine after coloring. Versafine ink is tacky enough, even though it isn't officially a pigment ink, to hold embossing powder.) I sprinkled on Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set it. I used my Sakura Glue Pen and rolled on glue to strategic spots and added glitter! I added Purple Fig glitter to her flowers, Caspia Sea on her eyes and earrings, and Shamrock on the leaves. I also added some Bridal glitter to her veil.

I also sprinkled on some Super Thick Silver embossing powder in strategic spots and heat set them. This gave some extra texture and shine to the project.

I colored the flowers, brushed on some Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive, and then sprinkled on Caspia Sea glitter.

As I was building the layers (more on that below!), I laid a heart stencil over the oval die and smeared on Moonstone Glimmer Paste. You can see the awesome sparkly hearts here!

Okay, on to how I created the layers for this mixed media project. I die cut several different ovals with my Tangerine die cutting machine (WOW, does this machine cut through paper like buttah!). Then, I added texture and colors to each layer. For the largest oval layer, I stamped the Crackle Background stamp in spots, with black ink. I stamped "first generation" and "second generation" images (second generation is stamping the stamp again with out re-inking up the stamp. The second generation stamp will stamp the image in a lighter color.) Then, I scooped a teeny bit of Nuvo Royal Aubergine embellishment mousse into my Mini Mister and added in some water. I shook it up and created my own mister spray in this gorgeous purple color. I spritzed on some purple mist and called it good!

For the second layer, I stamped out the Honey Bees honey comb with Versamark Ink and then sprinkled on Royal Purple embossing powder and heat set it.

Here is a shot of all the three layers and the flowers I added later. I also added some stamped sentiments from the Honey Bees stamp set, and sprinkled on Spring Willow embossing powder and heat set it. This gave some more dimension to this layer.

I also spritzed some white flowers to give them some purple color, with my Royal Aubergine home-made mister spray!

This was really fun to create, and I liked how it came out. This Cherished Moments Bride stamp set is amazing, and it was really fun to color and embellish. I hope you liked it too! Sparkle N Sprinkle Victorian Camille at Christmas {09.27.2017}

Hi Sparkle & Sprinkle Designer Chris with another Sparkle N Sprinkle September reveal card! It is starting to look like Christmas ... Let's check out the card I made using the Victorian Camille at Christmas digi stamp, expertly colored by our very own Anne Temple! THANKS Anne for this amazing coloring!

One of the amazing features about the Sparkle N Sprinkle digi stamps is that there are the "non-colored" options and the "pre-colored" options. I opted to use the pre-colored option (thanks again, Anne!). I sized out the image on my computer, then printed it onto white cardstock. I partially die cut out the image using Tonic Studios Scalloped Square Layering Basics Die. I used the Nuvo Glue Pen Fine tip to roll on some adhesive to specific areas on the image. I sprinkled on Gypsy Red glitter to the holly berries, Elegant Emerald to the holly leaves, Celestial glitter to her hair, Margarita glitter to her eyes, and Waterfall glitter to her ruffles and hat.

I used Tonic Studios 12" Wide Base Craft Guillotine and cut down a piece of blue cardstock into a square. I dry embossed it using the Tonic Studios Filigree Affections Idyllics Dies Embossing Folder. I then used my finger tool to rub on some Pure Platinum mousse and Pacific Teal mousse, in random spots over the embossed image. Then I adhered it onto a red cardstock panel. I lined the seam edge with 1/8" Tear-ific Tape, pulled off the release top layer, and then sprinkled on and burnished in Sparkling Snow glitter. This gave a fun and sparkly edge to my card.

I added in a new die set, Tonic Studios Buttercup Sunburst Window Box Die Set. This die is really fun - it adds "flaps" or "wings" to the card, that create a base or stand that allows the card to stand upright. And, they are tabs and insert into the card and each other, and can be folded flat for mailing! Perfect and amazing design. I die cut blue cardstock with this window box die set, and also ran it through the Filigree Affections Idyllics Dies Embossing Folder. I also added on some more Pure Platinum mousse and Pacific Teal mousse, to the cardstock. I also die cut some red cardstock with the window box die. I adhered the window box flaps to the back of the card with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive, and shaped these across the front of the card. This photo helps show the dimension of the window box flaps. They really pop out across the top and are amazing!

Okay, just had to add in this photo too, which shows Camille in her full glory. I love how the sun is coming up over the back of the photo and the sun streaks! So cool!!!

This image is stunning, and I love how Anne colored the digi image. I enhanced the colors with the glitters and added in those fun embellishment mousse. Overall, this card makes me feel happy about the upcoming winter season, and I am looking forward to using this image a lot for the holidays! I know you will love her too!

You're a Good Egg Mom Card (#09/52) {03.03.2017}

I made a card using some Easter and Spring supplies for my Mommy, but tried to make it more of a thinking of you style stamp instead of an Easter card, to see if I could do it! I used some products from Simon Says Stamp, and this is what I came up, from being inspired by one of the images I saw on Simon's blog.

I used a Simon Says Stamp egg stencil and applied two Embellishment Mousses, in Peony Pink and Aquamarine. I wasn't sure how it would work, and it ended up working out really well! I also stamped out two sentiments from the Simon Says Stamp Some Bunny stamp set in Versamark Ink on black cardstock, and heat embossed with Sparkle N Sprinkle's White Detail embossing powder.

And, I stamped out another sentiment from the Some Bunny stamp set and the chick inside the card.

I was able to whip this card out pretty fast, which is what I needed since I was time crunched. It ended up working out, and I think I will have to try combining mousse colors more often! It was fun.
