I started out by stamping out the Christmas Kitty with Memento Tuxedo Black ink (a Copic friendly ink) with my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform, then colored the kitty with Copic markers. I inserted the colored image back into the Stamp Platform and inked it with Versafine Onyx Black ink, and stamped it again. This ink is an embossing ink and is tacky enough to hold embossing powder, and it really blackens the lines that I had colored over when I colored the image with Copics. I sprinkled on Clear embossing powder and heat set it. Then, I rolled on some Clear Mark Pen (embossing pen ink) onto the lights and made sure I went "outside" the lines of the lights, and sprinkled on Sparkle embossing powder and heat set it. This made the lights glow a little bit more. So much fun!

I created a Z-fold panel card, and stamped the Crystal Snowflake stamps onto the panels, using Versamark ink. I sprinkled on Robins Egg embossing powder and heat set it. I also stamped out the light bulbs, colored them, and rolled on more Clear Mark Pen embossing ink and then added more Sparkle embossing powder and heat set them. I also ink blended some blue inks onto the panels to give the cardstock some depth of color and make them "cooler" to match the theme.

To top the Z-fold panels, I die cut out Emerald Green and Satin Effect mirror cardstocks using the Tonic Christmas Header Fold Tangled Holly die, and my Tonic Tangerine machine. I layered these together and layered them above the Z-fold panels.

I also stamped out the sentiment with Versamark ink and sprinkled on Gold Coast embossing powder and heat set it. I die cut the sentiment and more Emerald Green mirror cardstock using Tonic's Mixed Edge Oval Layering Basics Die Set and layered these together and adhered it over the front of the card.

I am a total sucker for any critter in a string of lights, and this Christmas Kitty stamp set is totally fun. I know you will love it and I can't wait to see what you create with it!

Sparkle N Sprinkle Memory In Our Heart

I positioned the stamp in my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and stamped it onto white cardstock, with Versamark ink. I then sprinkled on a tiny bit of the embossing powders, before tilting the cardstock to remove the rest of all the powders. I sprinkled on just a bit of each color, because I knew they would co-mingle when I dumped them off the project. I was able to reuse the leftover, which you can see below. But, here is the sentiment with the rainbow of embossing powders: Red Apple, Tangy Tangerine, Daffodil, Forest Green, Blue Ribbon, and Amethyst. I used the left over embossing powders to create a multi-color matting around the sentiment too. I die cut all the ovals using Tonic's Mixed Edge Oval Layering Basics dies and my Tonic Tangerine machine.

I also used Tonic's Will's Hand - Love die cut to cut out the love and shadow. I inked ujp the love with Versamark ink and then dredged it through my pile of left over embossing powder from the sentiment above. I heat set this, and loved how it turned out! I layered it over the shadow image and adhered it to the front when I had the front done.

Here is a shot of all the embossing powders I used to create the sentiment and the frame. These are gorgeous powders and they worked perfect for this project!

And, here is a photo of how I created the background! I die cut out some hearts from some patterned papers in the Photo Play Summer Bucket List paper pack. I laid down a piece of Sticker Paper, pull away the release paper, and then die cut an oval from the release paper. I replaced the oval onto the sticker paper to keep it from being covered by the glitter. I pressed down the hearts into the sticker paper. Then, I covered the sticker paper with a piece of lace, and pressed Bridal glitter. I burnished it really well with my finger tool, and then dusted off the glitter. I removed the lace, and then burnished in Denim glitter, which adhered to the revealed sticker adhesive that the lace had been covering up. This creaed a cool background! I also kept a strip of stick paper across the bottom, and pressed in Butterscotch glitter to the bottom strip before adhering the love die cut to the base.

I had a lot of fun making this card and I love how the rainbow of embossing powders worked out, which so perfectly showcased this amazing sentiment stamp!

I stamped out the Dahlia images onto white cardstock with Versafine Black Onyx ink, using my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform. I sprinkled on Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set them. Then, I colored the dahlia images by blending ink over them with an ink blender tool. I fussy cut them as focus points for my card. I rolled on Nuvo Smooth Precision Glue Pen and sprinkled on glitters: Pink Fizz for the pink areas, and Butterscotch for the yellow areas. I also laid down a strip of 2-1/2" Tear-ific Tape onto some cardstock, and pulled off the release paper. I also laid down two strips of 1/8" Tear-ific Tape toward the outer edges of the exposed 2-1/2" Tear-ific Tape, and left the release paper. I burnished in some Butterscotch glitter onto all the exposed 2-1/2" Tear-ific Tape across the whole cardstock. Once it was burnished in good and well, I brushed off all the remaining glitter with the Glitter Brush. I pulled off the release paper from the two 1/8" strips and then burnished in Cobalt Glaze glitter. These blue lines really popped! I layered the glitter strips and dahlias over some patterned paper from the Photo Play Paper Crane Collection Pack, and then adhered this onto a card base. 

I treated some white cardstock with my Anti Static Bag, then stamped it using my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and pink ink. I then cleaned my stamp (while still on the Stamp Platform) and then reinked the stamp with Versamark ink. I sprinkled on Amour embossing powder and heat set it. Then, I die cut the sentiment with the Ornate Frame Layering Die Collection. I rolled on more Nuvo Smooth Precision Glue Pen around the outer edge of the sentiment oval and sprinkled on Butterscotch glitter.

I also decorated the inside of the card. I lined the inside of the card with more patterned paper from the Photo Play Paper Crane Collection Pack. I trimmed some white cardstock with my Tonic Guillotine to make it a little bit smaller than the patterned paper so I could use the patterned paper as a frame to the white cardstock. I stamped out some flourishes from the Flourishes One stamp set in light inks around the edge of the cardstock. I also stamped the sentiment in the center with colored ink. I adhered all the layers together inside the card.

I made this card for Margaret, our Sparkle Queen and owner of Sparkle N Sprinkle. She is an amazing lady and I wanted to send her some happy mail. I hope she enjoyed it!

I live close to the United States - Canadian border and having this stamp set to help celebrate Canada Day is perfect! I love it! I stamped out the Sophie Pup holding her Canadian flag with Versafine Black Onyx ink in my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform onto cardstock I had treated with my Anti Static Bag. I sprinkled on Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set it. Then, I colored the image using Copic markers. I die cut the image with the Artist Trading Card Hello die set and my Tonic Tangerine machine. Then, I plopped a smear of Raspberry Rhodolite glimmer paste onto my Easy Clean Craft Mat, and then brushed the Raspberry Rhodolite glimmer paste onto the red parts of the Canadian flag. This glimmer paste was the perfect shade and sparkle for the Canadian flag!

I also stamped out the Happy Canada Day! sentiment. I treated some black cardstock with my Anti Static Bag, then stamped out the sentiment with Versamark ink. I sprinkled on White Detail embossing powder and heat set it. I trimmed the cardstock and cut it into a fishtail banner.

To build the card, I masked over the stamped image, and then ink blended the ground using Lime Burst from the Tropical Fruits Diamond Hybrid Ink Pads set. I also used the Polar Ice from the Sea Siren Diamond Hybrid Ink Pads set for the sky. I removed the mask after doing the background ink blending. I also stamped the image with a red ink onto white cardstock to create a patterned image. I die cut the stamped cardstock with the Tonic Mixed Edge Rectangle Layering Basics Die Set die. I matted the layers with black cardstock and layered them onto a card base. I rolled some Nuvo Smooth Precision Glue Pen onto the edge of the black mat, and sprinkled on some Collegiate Garnet glitter to complete the card.

This card will help me celebrate Canada Day and it is a lot of fun. I think you will love it and make some really fun cards too! I can't wait to see what you make. I had a lot of fun with this stamp set! I used some metallic watercolors in my stash to color some watercolor paper a shimmery pink. Then, I stamped out the sentiment onto watercolor paper. I treated the paper with my Anti Static Bag, and inserted it into my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform. I inked up my stamp with Versafine Onyx Black ink, and stamped it onto the watercolor cardstock. I inked and stamped again to make sure I got a solid impression. Then, I removed the paper, sprinkled on Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set it. I die cut the sentiment using a label die from my stash. Then, I fussy cut a border from black cardstock and layered the sentiment label over the border cardstock. I swiped the outer edge with my Nuvo Smooth Precision Glue Pen and then sprinkled on some Cloud Nine glitter. As I finished adding all the layers to my card, I squeezed on some Nuvo Simply White Crystal Drops. You can see all the embossing powder, glitter and drops below.

I created a Colorful Cosmos Garden by masking off the image (more on that below). I used my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform for the masked stamping, and also stamped out the Cosmoses with Versafine Onyx Black ink, which is a waterproof ink. After I had everything stamped out, I used metallic watercolor paints from my stash to color in the Cosmos blooms and the background. When I was done with all my coloring, I used a frame die to cut the teeny thin frame from the image. I also die cut the frame again with Tonic Pink Chiffon Mirror Card Satin Effect, and then pieced all the pieces back together and substituted the pink mirror card for that inner frame I had die cut out. After I pieced it all back together, I rolled out some Nuvo Smooth Precision Glue Pen onto the flower petals and sprinkled on glitters. I used: Autumn Frost, Caspia Sea, Pink Fizz, Butterscotch, Tangerine, and Gecko glitters to embellish the Cosmos blooms. You can see all that amazing sparkle below.

The photo below shows how I created and used the mask to make the Cosmos garden. I placed the stamp inside the Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform, aligned my watercolor cardstock (I normally line up my paper in the bottom corner but because to "hang" the bottom of the stamp image off the bottom edge of the card, I had to move my cardstock higher up on the stamp platform) inside the Stamp Platform. I shut the door, picked up the stamp onto the lid, and inked up the stamp, and stamped it onto the paper. Then, I stamped again onto a post it note and then fussy cut out the post it (see it below, the blue image). I layered the post it over the Cosmos Bloom I had just stamped, cleaned off the stamp, and layered it where I wanted the next batch of flowers to stamp. I repeated this process (stamping the image onto the cardstock, moving the mask to cover what I just stamped, cleaning the stamp, positioning the stamp where I wanted it next - which overlaid part of the previous stamp, or butted up against it, and inked and stamped again) until I had the full row of Cosmos Blooms for my garden. Masking is a great way to use the same stamp to make a larger image.

This Cosmos Blooms garden was fun to make. I love floral stamps, and this was also really fun to color. I enjoyed pulling out the watercolors and going to town. I started out by stamping the unicorn with Versamark ink, onto a piece of cardstock I had treated with my Anti Static Bag. I used the Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform to stamp the unicorn. I sprinkled on Silver Lightning embossing powder and heat set it. Then, I used paint brushes to brush on the embellishment mousse. I store my mousses in individual zip-close baggies to help keep them from drying out, but if they are too dry, I just mist them with my water mister and this is all I need to do to get them to the consistency I needed to paint the unicorn. When I was done painting the unicorn, I used my Tonic Tangerine die cutting machine and the Tonic Mixed Edge Oval dies to cut out the unicorn and a pearly paper to mat behind it. I also cut out a square from a 12x12 sheet of Lawn Fawn's Watercolor Wishes collection pack paper for the background. And, then I die cut out some of Lawn Fawn's Watercolor Wishes petite paper pack and the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders die to make the grass area. I adhered the grass border to the base of the card, and then layered the unicorn oval using foam dimensionals. Then, I started decorating with pearls! I pulled a bunch of pearls from my stash and had a lot of different sizes. I placed the pearls inside the unicorn body and also created a hint of a rainbow with pearls in the upper right corner. In this photo below, you can see all the fun pearls in the body and the sparkly Silver Lightning embossing powder!

I used my Copic markers to color white cardstock in coordinating colors, and then stamped the sentiment using Versamark ink and sprinkled on White Detail embossing powder. I heat set it, and then die cut it with the Tonic Tangerine and the Tonic Mixed Edge Oval dies. I adhered a ring of pearls around the sentiment and adhered it using foam dimensionals to the card front.

This was a really fun card to make! I love how the different pearl sizes worked so well on the unicorn, and this was the first time I have painted with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse. It worked great! I will definitely be doing this again. I can't wait to see what you create and put in our Cardz 4 Galz challenge. Good luck!

I started by die cutting a collage picture frame type border from my stash, from green cardstock using my Tonic Tangerine machine. Then, I cut the same die using white cardstock. After this step, I stamped each individual white cardstock piece and inlaid it into the collage frame. Below is one of the inserts. To make this one, I stamped out the Happy Holidays sentiment, using my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform. I inked up the stamp with Versamark Ink, and stamped it. To make sure I got all the detail, I inked up and stamped again, right over top the same spot (the Stamp Platform works great!). I sprinkled on Forest Green embossing powder and heat set the sentiment. I placed the small leaf stamp onto an acrylic block, inked up the leaf with the Nuvo Safari Green Hybrid Ink, and stamped it onto scrap paper, and then immediately stamped it onto the piece of cardstock. I did this to get a second generation stamp image which isn't as dark as the first generation. I did this several times to get the lighter color to give some background to this panel.

This stamp set has a really great long scripty sentiment too. Because I focused the largest panel for the Happy Holidays sentiment as the statement piece, above, I wasn't sure how to incorporate this sentiment since all the panels were smaller than it, but I really wanted to incorporate it this card. I decided to do the trick from above, and stamp a second generation sentiment onto a panel, to make it provide some texture and background to the card while using the sentiment. Here is what it ended up looking like. I really like it.

Here are two other panels that I stamped out. I did some first generation and second generation stamping on these panels to get some different color shades. I also stamped over the leaves with Versamark ink and sprinkled on Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set it. This gave the leaves a shiny covering!

Here is the full card. After inlaying all the white pieces into the collage frame, I adhered strips of 1/4" Tear-ific Tape along the outer edge of the card base. I adhered the collage frame section into the center of the card base, and then burnished in some 24KT Gold glitter into the rest of the exposed Tear-ific Tape. I squeezed on some Woodland Green and Simply White Crystal Drops in places across the card, and this card was done!

Cardz 4 Galz Mythical or Fantasy Challenge # 72 Game of Thrones card! [05.24.2018]

Hi! Today's card is for the Cardz 4 Galz: Mythical or Fantasy Challenge #72. I just had to make a card that fit both mythical and fantasy ... so I focused on Game of Thrones! One of my favorite television shows. I just had to make a card with an homage to this epic, sweeping mythical fantasy show (and books!). Here is the card.

I started out by die cutting the Karen Burniston Castle Pop-Up die, using my Tonic Tangerine. I cut out all the parts of the castle from multiple papers and pieced it together following the directions. It can be sized for a standard A2 sized card, but I wanted a lot of space to add in more stuff, so I centered the castle in the middle of a full sheet of 8-1/2 x 11 cardstock that I had trimmed to 8 x 10-1/2. I also stamped out the Stark "wolf" using one of Lawn Fawn's foxes from the Critters in the Forest stamp set. I also stamped out the Lawn Fawn Bannerific banner and wrote "winter is coming" with Lawn Fawn's Harold's ABCs stamp set. I also created some ice bergs from Lawn Fawn's Critters in the Arctic. I stamped them out with Blue Bahama Memento ink, then overstamped with Versamark ink and then sprinkled on Ocean and Robins Egg embossing powders from Sparkle N Sprinkle, and heat set them. Then, I fussy cut them out.

For King's Landing, I stamped out the castle from Lawn Fawn's Critters Ever After and fussy cut it. I also stamped out the Lion from Lawn Fawn's Critters on the Savanna. I also die cut some blue cardstock using Lawn Fawn's Puffy Cloud Borders die. This represents the water and ocean at King's Landing. After stamping the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I colored them with Copic markers, and then placed them back in my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and stamped them again with Versafine Black Onyx ink and then sprinkled on Sparkle N Sprinkle's Clear embossing powder and heat set it. This makes a nice solid black line that is embossed, after the coloring!

For the dragon to represent House Targaryen, I stamped out Lawn Fawn's Critters Ever After dragon, and colored him with copic markers, then reinserted him into the Stamp Platform and overstamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink and sprinkled on more Sparkle N Sprinkle Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set it. I also added some highlights with a white gel pen. I fussy cut out the dragon. I also created The Wall using blue cardstock. I dry embossed it with a textured embossing folder and then swiped some distress ink over the top and along the edges to give it some depth. Then, I squeezed on some Sparkle N Sprinkle Dimensional Glue along the wall, and covered the glue with Cloud Nine glitter. This gave the wall a lot of sparkle! I scored the bottom edge of the wall and folded it and adhered it to the card so that when the card is folded shut, the wall is flat inside the card.

Here is another photo of the full card. See how The Wall stands up! Woot woot! And, Winterfell is in the center of the card. I also laid down a stencil, on the blue water part, and stenciled in Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste to give the water a bit more flair. Before adhering everything down, I also stamped Lawn Fawn's "bricks" from their Interlocking Backdrops stamp set in gold ink for King's Landing. I also stamped out some honey comb texture using another stamp from Lawn Fawn's Interlocking Backdrops stamp set along the middle of the card to change up the terrain from warm and tropical King's Landing to Winterfell, which is dark and cold since winter is coming!

This was a really fun card to make! I, along with a billion other people, are counting down the days until the final season arrives. 11 more months ... but who is counting! hahaha. I hope this card gave you a little bit of a breather as we continue to wait!

Sparkle N Sprinkle Tulip Square Window Acetate Card [04.30.2018]

What a wonderful spring day! Sparkle N Sprinkle revealed the Tulip Squares stamp set in April, and here is the card I made using this new stamp. I also used Embossable Acetate and made a window see-through panel for the front of the card.

I started by stamping out the Tulip Squares stamp image, with Jet Black Stazon ink, onto Clear Embossable Acetate, using my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform. I removed the Acetate from my Stamp Platform, turned it over, and colored the tulip, leaves, and lady bugs with Copic markers. Then, still on the back of the acetate, I rolled on some Nuvo Smooth Precision Glue Pen onto the backside of the tulip, and sprinkled on Butterscotch glitter. I let that dry, then rolled on more glue onto the lady bugs and sprinkled on Burgundy Glitz glitter. The flower and lady bugs sparkled a lot! I die cut out a square from the front of my cardstock base, using Tonic's Scalloped Squares Layering Basic Die Set and my Tonic Tangerine machine. I also die cut out a scalloped frame and adhered the frame over the acetate and to the card base.

I stamped out the ladybug stamp onto white cardstock, and stamped it with Versafine Black Onyx ink, again using my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform. I sprinkled on Black Magic embossing powder and heat set it. I fussy cut the ladybug out, then rolled on more Nuvo Smooth Precision Glue Pen onto the ladybug wings and sprinkled on more Burgundy Glitz glitter. Once it all dried, I squeezed on some Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops for the ladybug dots. I stamped out the sentiment with Versafine Black Onyx ink and sprinkled on more Black Magic embossing powder. I heat set it, and then die cut out the sentiment with one of Tonic's Scalloped Squares Layering Basic Die Set. I also cut 1/4" and 1/8" strips of Tonic's Honey Gold Satin Effect and Harvest Gold High Gloss Mirror Card Stock, rolled some glue onto the back of them, and layered them across the front of the card. I mounted the sentiment block onto some foam tape, and layering it over the cardstock strips.

I really like the look of this see-through window card and I love how the glitter on the back side of the image really sparkles. What fun! Gonna definitely be doing this again.

Cardz 4 Galz #70 April Showers Shadowbox Card [04.26.2018]

Hi! Today's card is for the Cardz 4 Galz #70 April Showers challenge. So, when I think April Showers, I of course think of Lawn Fawn's sweet little ducks from the Rub a Dub Dub stamp set, and some umbrellas and rain drops from Lawn Fawn's Hello Baby stamp set. This is what I created to show April showers, which bring spring flowers! Woo hoo!

I stamped out the duckies and sail boat from Lawn Fawn's Rub a Dub Dub stamp set, and the clouds and umbrellas from Lawn Fawn's Hello Baby stamp set, using my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform. I stamped them out with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, a Copic friendly ink. I colored the images, then reinserted the stamped cardstock back into my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform, inked up the images (which I had not moved) with Versafine Black Onyx ink, and stamped the images again. Then, I sprinkled on Sparkle N Sprinkle's Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set them. I die cut them out with their matching dies, and then also die cut out the Shadow Box die with my Tonic Tangerine machine! LOVE this machine!. I also die cut Lawn Fawn's Meadow Borders meadow grass and tulip dies. I added some Copic coloring to the tulips, and blended some distress ink onto the grassy borders. I also die cut out the Shadow Box pieces with Lawn Fawn's Quilted Backdrop die and layered white paper inside the Shadow Box to allow the quilted die cutting to show up really well! Here is a side angle of the Shadow Box to show a bit of the dimension.

I also stamped some of the clouds and rain drops from Lawn Fawn's Hello Baby stamp set inside the Shadow Box. And, then I stamped the rain drops onto Sparkle N Sprinkle's Embossable Acetate, with Versamark Ink. I sprinkled on Silver Lightning embossing powder and heat set it. I trimmed the acetate into strips, and adhered the rain drops all around inside the card. Here is another shot of the dimension and it also shows the layers better and all the fun rain drops inside the card!

I am also going to enter this card into Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #27: 3-D cards. This was a fun card to make, and I love how dimensional and fun these Shadow Box cards are. I look forward to what you create and post in the Cardz 4 Galz #70 April Showers challenge.
