Cardz 4 Galz Welcome Baby Card {09.14.2017}

Hi! Today's card is for the current challenge at Cardz 4 Galz. You gotta check it out, the theme for this challenge is Welcome Little Baby. Let's check out the card I made to celebrate this theme.

I stamped out some bunnies from Lawn Fawn's Hello Baby stamp set. I colored them with Prismacolor pencils, and then die cut them using Tonic Studio's Layering Basics Die Set Mixed Edge Oval die. I die cut the card panel with a solid edge die, and then cut another oval with scalloped edges from pink cardstock to mat the bunny image oval. I created the card base with pink cardstock and layered over some Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Rainbow Petite paper. I also laid down a strip of 1/8" Tear-ific Tape and sprinkled on some Bubble Gum glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle. I also stamped out the sentiment from the Hello Baby stamp set using Versafine Black Onyx ink, and sprinkled on Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set it. This photo shows a great close up of the awesome glitter strip and sentiment.

Another close up of the sweet momma and baby bunny. I love this stamp set, and it is so sweet and adorable. I love that it can be for adoptions, new babies, boy babies, girl babies, and just any baby. It is really fun.

I can't wait to give it to my friend who is expecting a sweet little baby soon!

Delight in the Beauty Flower Card {09.13.2017}

Hi! Today's card is a quick and fun card! I stamped out a Hero Arts background stamp using Versamark Ink onto Bristol paper. I sprinkled on Sparkle N Sprinkle's Gold Coast embossing powder and heat set it. This gave me the creamy gold background! Then, I colored the flowers with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Watercolor Markers. Here is the card.

I stamped out the sentiment onto vellum, using Versamark Ink. I sprinkled Amour embossing powder and heat set it. I love this color! I love the different colors in it. So fun!!! I die cut the vellum with Tonic Die Layering Basics Die Set Mixed Edge Oval dies, and then matted it with another die from the same set. This is such a GREAT set! It has regular (smooth) edged dies, which alternate with the scalloped size dies, so it allows for fun matting and layering!

Here is a close up of the embossing powder. It is so pretty! I love this color. It is the perfect creamy honey color, and I knew it would really make the pink colors pop. I am so glad I used this embossing powder. This card is so pretty and soft.

I know my friend will love this too, and I am so happy with how this card turned out!

Bee Shadow Box Card {09.11.2017}

Hi! Today's card is a Thank You card focusing on bees. A friend of mine who is a bee keeper (and I didn't know this) recently told me that their hobby is to keep bees and jar honey. And then the next day, he brought me a jar! So, I just HAD to make a thank you card, and I knew just the stamp set to use. I pulled out my trusty Sparkle N Sprinkle Honey Bees stamp set!!! WHAT? I know right, PERFECT! Let's check out the card.

To create this card, I stamped the Sparkle N Sprinkle Honey Bees image using my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform onto white cardstock, using Versafine Black Onyx ink. I colored my images with Prismacolor pencils, then put my cardstock back into the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and reinked it with Versafine Black Onyx ink. I sprinkled on Sparke N Sprinkle's Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set all the images. I used Lawn Fawn's new Shadow Box Card (squeal!) for the cards base. I die cut out the bee hive image with one of the pieces from the Lawn Fawn Shadow Box Card die. I die cut the box from brown cardstock. But, before the final assembly, I stamped along the outer edges with the honeycomb stamp, and sprinkled on Gold Coast embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle. I heat set this, which really gave a lot of fun texture to the sides and front of the shadow box card. Here is a side view of the card, showing how much dimension this shadow box has. And, the cool thing is, it folds FLAT for mailing, and fits in a normal sized envelope (4.25 x 5.5 inches).

I also did some sentiment stamping on another panel that I adhered to the back. I die cut the rectangle using white cardstock, and stamped the sentiment "You are sweeter than honey" since this was a thank you for the gift of honey! I sprinkled on more Sparkle N Sprinkle's Gold Coast embossing powder and heat set it. I love how the sentiment turned out - it looks like the sentiment is almost dripping honey, and this embossing powder is the perfect shade of rich, wonderful honey!

This photo also helps show the dimension and the three "hill layers" that I layered into the shadow box. I had also stamped out some of the bee images from the Honey Bees stamp set, stamped them in Versafine Black Onyx ink and sprinkled on Clear Detail embossing powder. I heat set these, and then colored them with some Copic markers to add color to the bees and wings. Then, I squeezed on some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Honey Gold over the bee bodies, and White Blizzard over the wings. These Crystal Drops added a lot of sparkle! I wanted the bees to have the feel of movement, so I cut some acetate into strips, and adhered the bees to the acetate strips and adhered them behind the three hill layers. It kinda looks like the bees are floating or flying in front of the hive! I also stamped out some of the images onto an envelope too.

The honey is AMAZING! I look forward to eating more of it, and am so grateful my friend shared a jar with me. I hope he likes this card :)

Sending Happy Thoughts Mom Card (#36/52) {09.08.2017}

Hi! Here is another card for Mommy! This one makes me happy because it is so soft and sweet, yet still fun! Let's check it out.

I created a pretty simple design, inspired by a 12 x 12 One Sheet Wonder video on YouTube. I created a card base from white cardstock, then adhered a piece of patterned paper. I die cut a rectangle from white cardstock, using Lawn Fawn's Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables. I then cut a mat layer from green cardstock, using Lawn Fawn's Scalloped Rectangle Stackables. I stamped the floral image and sentiment from Alt E New's Beautiful Day Stamp Set, using Memento Ink Tuxedo Black. I colored the image with Copic markers and added on a sweep of Wink of Stella clear glitter pen over the flower centers.

This card was a lot of fun to make, and I love this sweet little floral image from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set from Alt E New. I love cherry blossoms, so I colored the blossoms like a cherry blossom but they could be colored any way you want!

I know Mom will love this simple and sweet card. It is cute, simple, and to the point.

Sparkle N Sprinkle Basket of Hope card {09.06.2017}

Hi from Sparkle N Sprinkle Designer Chris! I am showcasing an August reveal stamp: Basket of Hope. I used the digi version, sized the pre-colored image using my computer and printed it out with my color printer. I die cut the image and started embellishing! Let's check out the card.

I die cut the image. Then, I layered a piece of Super Adhesive Sheets onto cardstock and then die cut another matching label shape to put behind the main image panel. I adhered the image panel over the cardstock piece with the Super Adhesive Sheets. I sprinkled on Hit the Beach embossing powder through the negative spaces and adhered the embossing powder to the Super Adhesive Sheets adhesive that was still showing through. I heat set it and made it all shiny and awesome! I also cut another card panel, swiped Versamark Ink along the edges, and then sprinkled on Spring Willow embossing powder and heat set it. I repeated this for a second layer, then adhered the image panel over it.

This set has some really fun sentiments. I used a digi sentiment which allowed me to size it to exactly the size I wanted. I printed it out then die cut it with a coordinating label die. While the paper was still inside the die (after cutting it), I blended some ink onto the cardstock. Then, I removed the die, and then drew a fine line of adhesive, using the Nuvo Glue Pen Small tip pen. I sprinkled on more Spring Willow embossing powder and heat set it. I also added some adhesive to the "You" part of the sentiment, sprinkled on some Hit the Beach embossing powder and heat set it too. I adhered the sentiment to the card. I wanted a little something more to add a bit more sparkle. So, I rolled on more Nuvo Glue Pen Small tip adhesive to the leaves, and sprinkled on Spring Willow embossing powder and heat set it. I also used the Nuvo Glue Pen Small tip to roll on adhesive to the jelly jar and sprinkled on some Sparkle embossing powder, and heat set that too. This gave a little bit of extra sparkle to the card! As a finishing touch, I squeezed on some Honey Gold Glitter Drops to the edges. Even more sparkle!

I enjoy using digi versions of stamp sets - the pre-colored images are so pretty. I love that I can create whatever size I want, and print out the image and create a card pretty quickly!

Hot Dog Card {09.04.2017}

Hi! It's me :) I was jamming on some mojo, inspired by THIS 12 x 12 One Sheet Wonder video ... I may (cough, cough) have made 12 cards, and you might (cough, cough) see MORE of those cards in the future as I use them :) I LOVE patterned paper (as my bursting papercrafting closet will attest), but I don't use it very well. I loved this video so much, that I just had to make 12 cards from a SINGLE SHEET of patterned paper (as the decorative or background element, the actual card bases were from solid cardstock!). Here is one of the cards I made.

One of my sweet puppies (9 year old dog, but I still call him a puppy, and he acts like one - full of energy and happiness!), goes to a doggie daycare one day a week. I like to send along thank you cards and goodies now and again when Cooper goes to doggie daycare. I made this card for the daycare folks! I stamped one of the dog images from Lawn Fawn's Critters at the Dog Park, colored it with Copic Markers, and die cut out the square using a square die cut, and then a little bit larger scalloped square using Tonic Die Layering Basics Die Set Scalloped Square set. I layered them together. I adhered one of the pieces of patterned paper to my cardbase, added some ribbon trim and layered the dog image over the ribbon. Then, I squeezed on Glossy Accents and let it sit overnight to completely harden. It is now all ready to go!

I am sure Tails a Wagging will enjoy this card - since they love dogs and all :) I had a lot of fun making it. I am inspired to make even more!!

Happy Mail Rainbow Bright Card for Mom (#35/52) {09.01.2017}

Okay. Here is this week's Card For Mom ... Do you ever have have the experience of wanting to or needing to make a card, you have limited time, and you have some scraps left over from another project? Yep, this is what happened to me, and this is what I created for Mom. I used items from Simon Says Stamp's September card kit. I had made a birthday card (coming up on my blog soon!) and had some left overs. I laid two of the papers together, and really liked how they looked, and figured I could whip out a simple Happy Mail card for Momma. So, here we go!

I created the card base from Simon Says Stamp Lavendar cardstock. I then trimmed some of the Doodlebug Fairytale Birthday paper and adhered them to my cardbase. I also applied some of the super sweet Doodlebug Sprinkle stickers (rainbow & cloud, heart, and little dots on the purple paper, so cute!).

I know this card is pretty simple ... and easy ... and no judgement ... I look at it like we all love getting Happy Mail, and having this arrive in the mail will be much more fun than getting nothing at all. So, when time is short, and scraps are floating around the surface of the desk, my motto is CREATE IT and give it to the person you are thinking of! We all need to make the world a better place, and having even the smallest gesture is always, ALWAYS, so much better than no gesture at all!
