Puppy Sympathy (09/22/2015)

We have several friends who lost their companion animals recently, so I made some sympathy cards to honor these wonderful canine companions. I made two cards, one for a friend who lost her dog, and another card for friends who lost both their dogs within a short span. I love animals so much, and firmly believe they are part of our family. These losses were tough for all, and I wanted to send my friends some hugs.

I made the cards very similar. I started out by using four Distress ink colors and blended them to make a sunset-feel background. I stamped out dogs from Lawn Fawn's Critters at the Dog Park stamp set. I also stamped out the sentiment from Lawn  Fawn's Scripty Sayings stamp set. Here is the first card:

A closeup of the coloring, stamped dog, and the sentiment:
I also die cut out a small heart from Lawn Fawn's Hearts Lawn Cuts dies and covered it with Glossy Accents and let it dry. It really made the heart sparkle and gave it depth.
Here is the card for our friends who lost their two dogs within a few months of each other:
And a closeup of the two sweet pups:

I stamped the inside of both cards with a sentiment from Lawn Fawn's So Much To Say stamp set:
I hope my friends know how much we all miss their furry companions, and wish they did not have to go through this heartbreak. Sending love and hugs to you all.

Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!

Chris

  1. Beautiful background - it is very sad when we lose a beloved pet. Pets give us so much comfort and love. You have made an exceptional card and/or cards for your friends.
