Sparkle N Sprinkle Happy Holidays card [05.28.2018]

Hi! Today's card is in preparation of the holidays coming up! Summer isn't quite here yet, but it is never too early to start getting holiday cards ready :) Today's card is using the Happy Holidays stamp set from Sparkle N Sprinkle's May release, along with some glitter, embossing powder, and Tear-ific Tape, and some Nuvo hybrid ink and Crystal Drops. Let's check it out!

Supply List:
Sparkle N Sprinkle Happy Holidays stamp set [00-897P8]
Sparkle N Sprinkle Clear Detail embossing powder [EP280]
Sparkle N Sprinkle Forest Green embossing powder [EP282]
Sparkle N Sprinkle 24KT Gold glitter [GM2038]
Sparkle N Sprinkle Glitter Brush [SG1400]
Sparkle N Sprinkle 1/4" Tear-ific Tape [SAT01]
Versamark ink [VM-001]
Anti Static Bag [99512]
Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive [200N]
Nuvo Safari Green Hybrid Ink [215N]
Nuvo Woodland Green Crystal Drops [663N]
Nuvo Simply White Crystal Drops [651N]
Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform [1707e]
Tonic Tangerine machine [138e]
Tonic Easy Clean Craft Mat [1514e]

I started by die cutting a collage picture frame type border from my stash, from green cardstock using my Tonic Tangerine machine. Then, I cut the same die using white cardstock. After this step, I stamped each individual white cardstock piece and inlaid it into the collage frame. Below is one of the inserts. To make this one, I stamped out the Happy Holidays sentiment, using my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform. I inked up the stamp with Versamark Ink, and stamped it. To make sure I got all the detail, I inked up and stamped again, right over top the same spot (the Stamp Platform works great!). I sprinkled on Forest Green embossing powder and heat set the sentiment. I placed the small leaf stamp onto an acrylic block, inked up the leaf with the Nuvo Safari Green Hybrid Ink, and stamped it onto scrap paper, and then immediately stamped it onto the piece of cardstock. I did this to get a second generation stamp image which isn't as dark as the first generation. I did this several times to get the lighter color to give some background to this panel.

This stamp set has a really great long scripty sentiment too. Because I focused the largest panel for the Happy Holidays sentiment as the statement piece, above, I wasn't sure how to incorporate this sentiment since all the panels were smaller than it, but I really wanted to incorporate it this card. I decided to do the trick from above, and stamp a second generation sentiment onto a panel, to make it provide some texture and background to the card while using the sentiment. Here is what it ended up looking like. I really like it.

Here are two other panels that I stamped out. I did some first generation and second generation stamping on these panels to get some different color shades. I also stamped over the leaves with Versamark ink and sprinkled on Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set it. This gave the leaves a shiny covering!

Here is the full card. After inlaying all the white pieces into the collage frame, I adhered strips of 1/4" Tear-ific Tape along the outer edge of the card base. I adhered the collage frame section into the center of the card base, and then burnished in some 24KT Gold glitter into the rest of the exposed Tear-ific Tape. I squeezed on some Woodland Green and Simply White Crystal Drops in places across the card, and this card was done!

Cardz 4 Galz Mythical or Fantasy Challenge # 72 Game of Thrones card! [05.24.2018]

Hi! Today's card is for the Cardz 4 Galz: Mythical or Fantasy Challenge #72. I just had to make a card that fit both mythical and fantasy ... so I focused on Game of Thrones! One of my favorite television shows. I just had to make a card with an homage to this epic, sweeping mythical fantasy show (and books!). Here is the card.

Supply List:
Lawn Fawn Critters Ever After stamp set and matching dies
Lawn Fawn Critters in the Forest stamp set and matching dies
Lawn Fawn Critters on the Savanna stamp set and matching dies
Lawn Fawn Critters in the Arctic stamp set
Lawn Fawn Bannerific stamp set and matching dies
Lawn Fawn Harold's ABCs stamp set
Lawn Fawn Interlocking Backdrops stamp set
Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Borders dies
Karen Burniston Castle Pop-up die
Sparkle N Sprinkle Clear Detail embossing powder [EP280]
Sparkle N Sprinkle Dimensional Glue
Sparkle N Sprinkle Cloud Nine glitter [GM2000]
Sparkle N Sprinkle Ocean embossing powder
Sparkle N Sprinkle Robins Egg embossing powder [EP468]
Versamark ink [VM-001]
Anti Static Bag [99512]
Versafine Onyx Black ink [VF-82]
Memento Tuxedo Black ink [ME-900]
Memento Bahama Blue ink [MD-100-004]
Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform [1707e]
Tonic Tangerine machine [138e]
Tonic Easy Clean Craft Mat [1514e]
Nuvo Moonstone glimmer paste [953N]
Copic markers
Tim Holtz distress inks
embossing folder
white gel pen

I started out by die cutting the Karen Burniston Castle Pop-Up die, using my Tonic Tangerine. I cut out all the parts of the castle from multiple papers and pieced it together following the directions. It can be sized for a standard A2 sized card, but I wanted a lot of space to add in more stuff, so I centered the castle in the middle of a full sheet of 8-1/2 x 11 cardstock that I had trimmed to 8 x 10-1/2. I also stamped out the Stark "wolf" using one of Lawn Fawn's foxes from the Critters in the Forest stamp set. I also stamped out the Lawn Fawn Bannerific banner and wrote "winter is coming" with Lawn Fawn's Harold's ABCs stamp set. I also created some ice bergs from Lawn Fawn's Critters in the Arctic. I stamped them out with Blue Bahama Memento ink, then overstamped with Versamark ink and then sprinkled on Ocean and Robins Egg embossing powders from Sparkle N Sprinkle, and heat set them. Then, I fussy cut them out.

For King's Landing, I stamped out the castle from Lawn Fawn's Critters Ever After and fussy cut it. I also stamped out the Lion from Lawn Fawn's Critters on the Savanna. I also die cut some blue cardstock using Lawn Fawn's Puffy Cloud Borders die. This represents the water and ocean at King's Landing. After stamping the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I colored them with Copic markers, and then placed them back in my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and stamped them again with Versafine Black Onyx ink and then sprinkled on Sparkle N Sprinkle's Clear embossing powder and heat set it. This makes a nice solid black line that is embossed, after the coloring!

For the dragon to represent House Targaryen, I stamped out Lawn Fawn's Critters Ever After dragon, and colored him with copic markers, then reinserted him into the Stamp Platform and overstamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink and sprinkled on more Sparkle N Sprinkle Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set it. I also added some highlights with a white gel pen. I fussy cut out the dragon. I also created The Wall using blue cardstock. I dry embossed it with a textured embossing folder and then swiped some distress ink over the top and along the edges to give it some depth. Then, I squeezed on some Sparkle N Sprinkle Dimensional Glue along the wall, and covered the glue with Cloud Nine glitter. This gave the wall a lot of sparkle! I scored the bottom edge of the wall and folded it and adhered it to the card so that when the card is folded shut, the wall is flat inside the card.

Here is another photo of the full card. See how The Wall stands up! Woot woot! And, Winterfell is in the center of the card. I also laid down a stencil, on the blue water part, and stenciled in Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste to give the water a bit more flair. Before adhering everything down, I also stamped Lawn Fawn's "bricks" from their Interlocking Backdrops stamp set in gold ink for King's Landing. I also stamped out some honey comb texture using another stamp from Lawn Fawn's Interlocking Backdrops stamp set along the middle of the card to change up the terrain from warm and tropical King's Landing to Winterfell, which is dark and cold since winter is coming!

This was a really fun card to make! I, along with a billion other people, are counting down the days until the final season arrives. 11 more months ... but who is counting! hahaha. I hope this card gave you a little bit of a breather as we continue to wait!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a magical day!

Sparkle N Sprinkle Aster Garden tag [05.21.2018]

Here is one of my Sparkle N Sprinkle May reveal stamp projects. I made a tag, using some digi stamps. I started out with the newly released Aster Garden digi stamp set, and used the sentiment, which reads: "Beautiful minds inspire others" which I think is a wonderful sentiment. I also used some of the digi papers from the Floral Surprise Papers set, which was released a few months ago. It is really fun to use different stamp sets together - and these two worked out so well together. Let's check out the tag I made using these two digi sets, and a tag base. Here it is!

Supply List:
Sparkle N Sprinkle Aster Garden digi stamp [DIGI893BC]
Sparkle N Sprinkle Floral Surprise Papers digi paper set [DIGI4006FS]
Sparkle N Sprinkle Super Thick White embossing powder [EP355]
Sparkle N Sprinkle Pink Fizz glitter [GM2050]
Sparkle N Sprinkle 2-1/2" Tear-ific Tape [SAT11]
Sparkle N Sprinkle Glitter Brush [SG1400]
Tonic Swirling Frame Layering Die Set [1462e]
Nuvo Radiant Gold Gilding Flakes [850N]
Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive [200N]
Nuvo Simply White Crystal Drops [651N]
Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss Pen [888N]
Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform [1707e]
Tonic Tangerine machine [138e]
Tonic Easy Clean Craft Mat [1514e]

I sized and printed the sentiment and layered it over a pink paper background from the Floral Surprise Papers digi set. I printed out the sentiment and background, and then die cut it using my Tonic Tangerine machine, and a Tonic Swirling Frame Layering Die Set die. I layered it over a piece of 2-1/2" Tear-ific Tape, trimmed it with my scissors in the shape of the die cut sentiment label, then burnished in some Nuvo Radiant Gold Gilding Flakes. I also printed out another digi paper from the Floral Surprise Papers set, and sized it to fit the size of the tag. That background paper is a bit of a newsprint with flowers and a humming bird, which you can see further below. I painted the tag with some white gesso, and let it dry. Then, I sized the background digi paper and layered it over the tag and adhered it down with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. I sprinkled on some Super Thick White embossing powder. Because this embossing powder is really chunky and it is best to heat from below - which wouldn't have worked out well because my tag was so thick (chipboard), I decided to heat up my oven to about 200 degrees Fahrenheit, and I placed my tag onto a cookie sheet layered with parchment paper. I slid this into the oven for a few minutes, and the embossing powder melted perfectly! I removed it from the oven, let it cool, and then I used foam tape to adhere the sentiment panel onto the tag. After this step, I felt like I had too much space between the sentiment and the edge of the tag. I pulled out some 3D dimensional glue dots, and adhered them to the tag. I sprinkled on Pink Fizz glitter and burnished it into these glue dots. This turned out really cool! Check out those globules of pink glitter! Awesome!

I also wanted more dimension. I pulled out some light pink flowers from my stash, brushed on some Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive, and then sprinkled on more Pink Fizz glitter to tie all the colors together. I adhered the pink flowers around the sentiment panel.

And, here are the gorgeous flowers and that sweet hummingbird on the digi Floral Surprise Papers. I did paint over the paper with a light layer of gesso, which toned down the paper a bit. I also brushed on some Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss Pen over the hummingbird and flowers. This photo captures some of the sparkle, but it is much more sparkly in real life!

And, here once again, is the full tag. Once I was done decorating it, I pulled out some white and pink ribbons from my stash and tied them onto the tag.

The winner will be announced on the 3rd of the following month, both on the SNS Blog and on the SNS Facebook page.

I really enjoyed using these two digi stamp sets, the Aster Garden which has gorgeous flowers and some amazing sentiments, and the Floral Surprise Papers set for the two backgrounds. It is really fun to combine several sets together, like I did here, to really stretch your stash and create more!

Sparkle N Sprinkle Cardinal and Holly card [05.16.2018]

Hello! Today's card is from the Sparkle N Sprinkle May 2018 release. This cardinal stamp was so gorgeous, so I used it for my first reveal card for May. Let's check out this awesome stamp and card!

Supply List:
Sparkle N Sprinkle Cardinal and Holly stamp [00-895P5]
Sparkle N Sprinkle Glitter Brush [SG1400]
Sparkle N Sprinkle Golden Sparkle [EP106]
Sparkle N Sprinkle Clear Detail embossing powder [EP280]
Sparkle N Sprinkle Aztec Gold [G1006]
Sparkle N Sprinkle 2-1/2" Tear-ific Tape [SAT15]
Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform [1707e]
Tonic Tangerine machine [138e]
Tonic Easy Clean Craft Mat [1514e]
Tonic Sunray Venus Layering Basics Die Set [1450e]
Tonic Autumnal Oak Die Set [1431e]
Anti Static Bag [99512]
Versafine Onyx Black ink [VF-82]
Versamark ink [VM-001]

I really loved this sentiment and had to use it with my card. This stamp set has a couple sentiments, but this one was my favorite! I stamped it with my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform, using a gold sparkle pigment ink from my stash. I stamped the sentiment, then sprinkled on Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set it. Then, I die cut out the cardstock using my Tonic Tangerine and a Tonic Sunray Venus Layering Basics Die Set die. I also used the same die and traced around the outside edge onto black cardstock and fussy cut it out to make a mat for the die cut sentiment.

I also decorated my card panel. I started out by laying down a strip of 2-1/2" Tear-ific Tape. I die cut some leaves from the Tonic Autumnal Oak Die Set from sparkly green cardstock. I pressed the leaves into the Tear-ific Tape, and then pressed the stamped and colored Cardinal die cut panel as well (more about that below!). Then, I burnished in some Aztec Gold glitter to all the rest of the exposed Tear-ific Tape. This Aztec Gold glitter is super sparkly and so beautiful. It was perfect!

And here is my Cardinal! I stamped out the Cardinal and Holly stamp with Versamark Ink, again using my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform. I stamped the cardinal and then sprinkled on Golden Sparkle embossing powder and heat set it. I colored the bird with brush markers, then die cut the image with Tonic Tangerine and Tonic Sunray Venue Layering Basics Die Set. I also used the die to use to trace around it and fussy cut out a mat for the bird panel. I also squeezed on some Nuvo Winter Cranberry Glitter Accents to the inside of the berries. I also squeezed some Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops into the upper corner of the card base as well.

Be sure to leave a comment both here on my personal blog and also on the SNS blog post too, for your chance to win a $20 gift card to SNS! One lucky winner will be chosen from one of the Designers' posts on the last day of each month. A comment must be left on both the SNS Blog and the Designer's post in order to qualify. The winner will be announced on the 3rd of the following month, both on the SNS Blog and on the SNS Facebook page.

This cardinal is gorgeous, and I love the holly and berries as part of the stamp. The sentiments are really fun, and very versatile. I know you will love it!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a magical day!

Cardz 4 Galz Challenge # 71 All Dressed Up

Hi! Today's card is for Cardz 4 Galz Challenge #71: All Dressed Up! And, what isn't cuter than a sweet little girl dressed up as a flower!?! Here is the card I made, using Lawn Fawn products.

Supply List:
Lawn Fawn Easter Party stamp set and dies
Lawn Fawn Bannerific stamp set and dies
Lawn Fawn Happy Happy Happy stamp set and dies
Lawn Fawn Quilted Backdrop die
Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Border dies
Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Spring Petite paper pack
Lawn Fawn Watercolor Wishes Petite paper pack
Sparkle N Sprinkle Clear Detail embossing powder [EP280]
Memento Tuxedo Black ink [ME-900]
Anti Static Bag [99512]
Versafine Onyx Black ink [VF-82]
Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform [1707e]
Tonic Tangerine machine [138e]
Tonic Easy Clean Craft Mat [1514e]
Glossy Accents
White gel pen
Copics
Distress Ink & ink blenders

I started out by stamping the little gal dressed as a flower, from the Lawn Fawn Easter Party stamp set, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink (copic friendly) with my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform. I also stamped out a lot of the sweet little flowers. I pulled everything out of my Stamp Platform, colored them with Copic markers, then put everything back inside the Stamp Platform, and stamped the images again with Versafine Onyx Black ink (a sticky ink that holds embossing powder). I sprinkled on Sparkle N Sprinkle's Clear Embossing powder and heat set everything. I also stamped out the "happy" and the banner and sentiment using Lawn Fawn's Happy Happy Happy and Bannerific stamp sets. I stamped with Versafine Black Onyx again and sprinkled on more Sparkle N Sprinkle Clear Embossing powder. I heat set these, and then die cut everything. I also die cut a piece of Lawn Fawn's Perfectly Plaid Spring paper with the Quilted Backdrop, layered it over a piece of white cardstock, then cut out a circle in the center with a circle die from my stash.

I also die cut a scalloped circle and cut out the center using the same circle die to make a frame to go around the hole. Then, I cut a circle from Lawn Fawn's Watercolor Wishes Petite paper pack, with a larger circle die. Then, I die cut some green cardstock with Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Border die, and blended some distress ink to the edges of the hillside. I layered the hillside over the base of the circle, then adhered the watercolor (background) circle behind the panel. I adhered the flowers and the little girl with adhesive and foam dimensional adhesive. I popped up the sentiment too, and here is what I ended up with!

I made two little flower girls all dressed up, one for my Mom and one for my husband's Mom. I used all the same colors but changed things up a little bit between the two cards so they weren't exactly identical. Here are both cards.

I am also entering these cards into Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 28: Sketch. I don't often use sketches when creating cards, so this was a fun challenge and these little dressed up flower girls in their sweet costumes seemed the like the perfect match!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a magical day!
