Happy Trails (06/29/2012)
Today's card is to help send someone off into the sunset, who is retiring. Let's say HI:
I made a card from kraft cardstock as the base. I used Lawn Fawn's Fanciful Frames and stamped a frame onto Lawn Fawn's Petite Paper Pack patterned paper. I used Critters Ever After to stamp the horse (it used to be a unicorn but I didn't cut out the horn). I stamped the horse onto a piece of Lawn Fawn's Bright Sides Collection Kit patterned paper. I pulled out the new Sunny Skies stamp set and stamped the sun and bow on the Bright Sides patterned paper and fussy cut out the border, sun, horse and bow.
I wanted to create a sunset effect, so I pulled out my trusty Distress inks and ink applicator tool thing. I layered 5 colors (yellows, oranges, reds) onto white paper to create the sunset.
I like how it turned out. I also needed a title, and I pulled out the alpha sticker sheet, in the Bright Sides Collection Kit, and adhered the sentiment.
It seemed like it needed a little pop, so I wrote in dots around the letters and wrote in stitches around the card as well.
I hope Sharon enjoys "riding into the sunset" for her retirement.
Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!

Merci, Washi & Bling (06/27/2012)
I needed some Thank You cards to thank a group of coaches for a training that I just completed, so I made up a bunch of fun cards to say Merci. Let's meet them:
I made cards from 3-1/4" x 8", and ran two strips of washi tape about 2/3s from the bottom. I stamped one of Lawn Fawn's Thank You stamps that you get in every order - this one said "Merci" - and then adhered some random bling. Two corner punches later, each card was done!
Here is a closer shot of some of them:
And finally, a close up of some washi tape, the sentiment and bling:
My coaches were fabulous, and they really helped me in my training. These little cards were just one small way to tell them how much I appreciate what they taught me.
Hope you enjoy them too.
Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!

Happy 15 Years Tails A Wagging (06/25/2012)
Today's card is to honor our local doggie daycare and training facility - which recently celebrated their 15th anniversary in business. They are fabulous, and I wanted to make them a card to say thanks for all that they do, for the doggies they care for, and the other animals they champion as well. Let's say HEY to the card shall we?
I used LOTS of critters from Lawn Fawn. They have 7 Critters sets, and I used six of them: Critters in the 'Burbs (dog, cat, bunny), Critters Ever After (unicorn, frog), Critters on the Farm (cow, pig, chicken, mouse), Critters in the Forest (raccoon, log, fox, hedgehog), Critters Down Under (koala), and Critters in the Snow (penguin).
I also used Harold's ABCs for the sentiment, and Quinns 123s for the "15" on the sentiment. And, I used Lawn Fawn's Bright Sides Collection Kit patterned paper for the hill in the background and the Petite Paper Pack for the patterned paper that I stamped "15" on, and then fussy cut out.
This was a fun card to make ... I stamped all sorts of critters, then colored them with Copic markers. I fussy cut all of them out, and layered them around until they looked right. I made sure there were 15 critters too, one for every year :) Go ahead, count them ... I'll wait ... told ya :) And, I did two dogs, one for Cooper and one for Dobbie, our two dogs. Here is a close-up:
I layered the critters with various levels of pop-dots to try to show different dimension. I also cut out a banner for the sentiment, and colored it with Distress Ink to soften it and make it a little sky-like. I adhered the critters and background on a cardstock panel, and then adhered it to the card I made from one full sheet of 8.5" x 11" paper. Before I adhered it though, I colored it a little with the Distress Ink as well, to offset the card itself from the cardstock panel.
It is hard to tell here, but I glitter-penned the unicorn horn to make it shiny. It looks much more sparkly in person, the photo didn't work well.
This was a really fun card to make, and I really hope Angi and the other folks at Tails A Wagging like all the critters! They do a fabulous job and have been making dogs lives better for 15 years!
Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!

Honu Mahalo (06/22/2012)
Sometimes ya just need a honu! Let's say HI to today's card:
This is a Mahalo (thank you) card for a honu (turtle) pendant that I got from a wire sculpture artist. We met Ben during some recent travel, and this talented young man made me a honu . . . one of my favorite animals!
I felt compelled to make him a Honu Mahalo card to show my appreciation of his great art. Here is my pendant that Ben made:
Ben's business is Twisted Inspirations. He does 3-D and 2.5-D wire sculptures and some jewelry. Check him out!
I made a simple card, and used Lawn Fawn's Belinda's Borders to anchor the top & bottom. I stamped out some honu and the Mahalo sentiment on Lawn Fawn's Bright Sides Collection patterned paper. I tossed on some washi tape, and did some stiching in white for a little extra pop. Popped up the honu with popdots, and I was done.
Thanks again Ben for the fabulous pendant - I love it!

Merci (06/20/2012)
Today's card is a little Thank You for a person who does a lot and works hard, and I just wanted to do a little something to let her know how much I appreciate her. Let's check out the card shall we?
I stamped Lawn Fawn's castle and unicorn from the Critters Ever After set, colored them with Copic markers and fussy cut them. I cut out a square from white cardstock, colored it with distress ink, and created a frame by stamping one of Belinda's Borders around the edges. I layered the cardstock square on a card base made from Lawn Fawn's Petite Paper Pack. I stamped the sentiment from a Lawn Fawn thank you they send with each order (awesome!).
I also colored in the unicorn horn with a gel glitter pen. It is hard to see in this photo, but here is a closeup:
This card was fun to do, and I hope it made Leslie's day, a little small token of how much she means to me and how much I appreciate her!
Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!

Dad's Day Card (06/18/2012)
Let's just get to it, and meet today's card shall we?
It is a Dad's Day Card!! I stole (borrowed?, copied?) an idea I saw on the Paper Crafts blog, and another idea on Lawn Fawn's blog ... and joined the two. The Paper Crafts idea was using popsicle sticks as a wood background. Lawn Fawn had a cool typewriter with a message - and I figured Dad's like woodmaking, and they are also "old style" so I put them together. I stamped some paper clips from Lawn Fawn's Just My Type (as well as the typewriter), and created a custom sentiment from a combination of alphabets and stamp sets from Lawn Fawn.
I used some washi tape to anchor the "wood" and popped up the copic colored typewriter with pop-dots. The top part was a little bit empty, so I added one chevron strip from Lawn Fawn's Chevron Backdrops set.
I also stamped the inside, here is what I did:
This was pretty simple - I am still not the best as masculine cards, but I keep trying! Happy Father's Day!!!
Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!

Make a Wish (06/15/2012)
Birthdays, Birthdays, and more Birthday cards! Let's say hello to today's birthday card:
I used Lawn Fawn's Critters Ever After for the sentiment, and stitched and made some swirls with my silver gel pen for a little extra shimmer. All in all, this card could be viewed as a little underwhelming on the OUTSIDE ... but in this case, the cool stuff is INSIDE the card. Let's check out what is inside shall we?
A unicorn, a castle, and a frog! The best things in the world :)
I also stamped a "happy birthday" sentiment and some stars on the inside, also from the Critters Ever After set.
This was another fun card to make, and give. Happy Birthday Kerena!
Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!

Birthday Dragon & Griffin (06/13/12)
Today's card has a dragon! And, a griffin! Let's say HELLO:
This card is for my nephew's 15th birthday, and I thought a fantasy theme seemed just right. I used Lawn Fawn's Critters Ever After for the animals and the sentiments. I also stamped the dragon and the griffin on some of Lawn Fawn's Bright Side Collection Kit patterned papers.
Here is a close up of the animals:
I stamped them on patterned paper, fussy cut them, then colored in some areas with Copic markers for additional color layers.
I grounded the animals with some colorful strips of washi tape, and did a blue/white strip across the top to mimic the sky. Me love washi tape!
This card was fun, and it makes me think of all sorts of fairy tales and stories. Happy Birthday Steven!

Classic 50th Anniversary (06/11/2012)
What a fun card today! It is an anniversary card ... let's meet it shall we?
This card is to honor my parents' 50th Anniversary. I used two Lawn Fawn alphabet sets: Claire's ABCs and Harold's ABCs (for the "th" in 50th).
I die cut black & white patterned (and fuzzy!) paper, layered it on a card stock panel, adhered ribbon, stamped the sentiment and added some bling and ribbon. Everything is better with bling!
Here is a close up of the sentiment and bling:
Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad - you are the best parents ever :)

With Sympathy (06/08/2012)
Let's meet today's card:
I stamped Lawn Fawn's Judy's Blooms flowers and leaves on white paper, heat embossed with clear embossing powder, and colored them in with water-based markers, and then soften the colors with a wet brush. After they dried, I fussy cut them. I also stamped Lawn Fawn's Chevron Backdrops to make the zig zag background on the card base.
I stamped the sentiment from the Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler set.
Layered it all up, with a little bit of pop-dots here and there, tossed on some pearls for some extra bling, and the card was done :)
Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!

You Rock! (06/04/2012)
Good day!
Let's meet today's card:
I made a card from purple cardstock, stamped the sentiment, and put two strips of washi tape underneath, and added a little bling strip. I versamark stamped flowers and leaves on white paper, and heat embossed them with clear powder. I colored the flowers with water-based markers, then "water-colored" them with a wet brush. After they dried, I fussy cut them, and layered them with pop-dots, and added pearl centers. One corner punch later, and I was done!
Here is a close up:
Simple, fun and easy - and I hope my friend who "rocks" likes it!

Critter Happy Birthday (06/01/2012)
Hello! Let's meet today's card shall we?
This is a little Happy Birthday card using my faves: Lawn Fawn's Critters in the Burbs, Quinn's ABCs, On the Mend, Harold's ABCs, and Schoolhouse Backdrops.
I stamped the doggie, kitty and flowers on white paper, and colored them with my Copic markers (love them!). I used versa mark ink on Quinn's ABCs stamped on colored cardstock and used clear embossing powder and heat gunned 'em. I fussy cut them out. I also stamped the little kid "writing' ledger lines on white, trimmed it, and mounted it on a solid cardstock strip. I also die cut a label, cut it in half, and stamped the rest of my sentiment with Harold's ABCs in blue on blue cardstock.
Here is a closeup of the doggie and kitty:
I like the "stripes" on the kitty! Way to go Copic markers!!
Simple, fun and easy :)
Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!
