Sparkle N Sprinkle Old Tractor Ornament

Hi! Today's project is a hanging ornament using Sparkle N Sprinkle's Old Tractor stamp set, that was released in August. This stamp set is really gorgeous, but I wanted to highlight the sentiment and a "love" diecut as the stars of the ornament. This is what I created.

Supply List:
Sparkle N Sprinkle The Old Tractor stamp set [00-910P5]
Sparkle N Sprinkle Sparkle embossing powder [EP107]
Sparkle N Sprinkle Timber embossing powder [EP469]
Sparkle N Sprinkle Sandstone embossing powder [EP218]
Anti Static Bag [99512]
Versafine Onyx Black ink [VF-82]
Versamark ink [VM-001]
Tonic Hexagon Layering Basics Die Set [1521e]
Tonic Deco Diamond Patterned Panels Die Set [1331e]
Tonic Filigree Affections Idyllics Die & Embossing Folder Set [1516e]
Tonic Will's Hand - Love - Miniature Moments Die Set [1891e]
Tonic Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat [1914e]
Tonic Tangerine machine [138e]
Tonic Easy Clean Craft Mat [1514e]
Tonic 12" Wide Base Craft Guillotine [454a]
Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform [1707e]
Nuvo Smooth Precision Glue Pen [206N]
Nuvo Double Denim Crystal Drops [691N]
Nuvo Buttermilk Crystal Drops [652N]
Nuvo Party Pink Crystal Drops [690N]

I started out by die cutting out the hexagon "frame" by taping two Hexagon Layering Basics dies together and then running them through my Tonic Tangerine. I also die cut a piece of cardstock with the Deco Diamond Patterned Panels and then die cut it into a hexagon shape. I also die cut out a hexagon shape from inside the panel. I die cut a hexagon acetate piece, and a white cardstock piece. I stamped the tractor image and one of the sentiments using the Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform. For the tractor, I stamped the image with Versafine Black Onyx Ink, and then sprinkled on Sparkle embossing powder and heat set it. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink, and then sprinkled on Timber embossing powder and heat set it. Here are all the "pieces" I created to make this hanging ornament.

It is hard to tell, but here is the dry embossing in the acetate. After I die cut the acetate into a hexagon shape, I ran it through the Filigree Affections Idyllics Embossing Folder to give it some texture. You can see some of it in this photo below.

Here is a close up of the Old Tractor sentiment embossed with TImber embossing powder. I also squeezed little drops of Buttermilk Crystal Drops all around the outer edge of the hexagon panel.

I also squeezed on Double Denim and Party Pink Crystal Drops along parts of the background too.

This photo has more of the ornament in it - but what really makes me happy about this photo is the way that the light showcases how amazing that Timber embossing powder is! Check out that color and glow! AMAZING! Beautiful!

And, I also die cut out the Will's Hand Love Miniature Moments die. I die cut the sentiment from cardstock, inked it up with Versarmark ink, and then sprinkled on Sandstone embossing powder and heat set it. I layered it over the outline die from the same set. This embossing powder is fantastic. I love all the detail and color flecks in this embossing powder. I think it is absolutely gorgeous!

I enjoyed this ornament. I like the layers and the gorgeous embossing powders for the sentiments and the tractor itself. What a fun project!

Sparkle N Sprinkle Feathered Friends Purse

Hi! Today's card is a purse ... yep! Super cute sweet lil' purse. I used Sparkle N Sprinkle's new August release, called Feathered Friends. This stamp set is adorable. Those sweet birds make me happy. Let's check out this purse, shall we.

Sparkle N Sprinkle Supply List:
Feathered Friends stamp set [00-909P5]
Clear Detail embossing powder [EP280]
Amethyst embossing powder [EP199]
Butterscotch glitter [GM2051]
Anti Static Bag [99512]
Nuvo Nebula Blue Mica Mist [576N]
Nuvo Violet Lustre Mica Mist [575N]
Nuvo Fresh Pear Mica Mist [574N]
Nuvo Turkish Rose Mica Mist [573N]
Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive [200N]
Nuvo Smooth Precision Glue Pen [206N]
Tonic Chelsea Shoulder Bag Gift Box die [764E)
Tonic Easy Clean Craft Mat [1514e]
Tonic 12" Wide Base Craft Guillotine [454a]
Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform [1707e]
Tonic Tangerine machine [138e]
Versafine Onyx Black ink [VF-82]
Versamark Ink [VM-001]

I wanted to make my own "patterned paper" so I spritzed four colors of Mica Mist onto some white cardstock. I added some splatter as well, and then die cut out the purse parts using the Tonic Chelsea Bag die, and my Tonic Tangerine machine.

I also wanted to keep in the same color theme, so I dropped a few drops of each of the Mica Mists onto a palette and added a bit of water to them to color / paint the images. I first stamped out the images, using my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform, and Versafine Onyx Black ink, which is waterproof. I also sprinkled on some Clear Detail embossing powder over the images and heat embossed them, and then painted them.

Here are the birdies as a close up. I painted them, as shown above. Then, I fussy cut them out, and then rolled on some Smooth Precision Glue Pen onto the beaks and feet, and sprinkled on some Butterscotch glitter. I just wanted a little extra punch to the birdies and this glitter did the trick!

I also inked up my "so grateful" sentiment with my Versamark ink, and stamped the sentiment, again in my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform. I sprinkled on Amethyst embossing powder and heat set it. I then partially die cut out the purse tag, and then repositioned the die, and partially die cut the other end of the tag so I could make it longer to fit in the whole sentiment. This is a great way to literally "stretch" your dies to get different shapes or sizes!

Here is another close up of the purse. It shows a lot of dimension. This purse is so cute. It would be so much fun to make a bunch of these for little giftie or goody bags. I highly recommend this die set!

This purse was fun to make and I really love these Mica Mists. The colors are gorgeous and it was a lot of fun to make my own patterned paper and then die cut it out to make this purse. Lots of fun! And this Feathered Friends stamp set is so cute. I know you will love it too.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a magical day!

Sparkle N Sprinkle Old Tractor Dirt Tracks card [08.15.2018]

Hi! Today's card is a card I created using Sparkle N Sprinkle's new Old Tractor stamp set, which is one of the stamp sets in the August release. I stamped the tractor, embossed it and colored it, and also made mud splatters and dirt tracks as part of the card too. Let's check it out!

Sparkle N Sprinkle Supply List:
The Old Tractor stamp set [00-910P5]
Reflection glitter [GM2007]
Campfire glitter [GM2042]
Hickory glitter [GM2044]
Rose Gold glitter [GM2023]
Starry Night glitter [G1048]
Canary flocking [FL108]
1/4" Tear-ific Tape [SAT01]
  Clear Detail embossing powder [EP280]
Antiquities embossing powder [EP266]
Versamark ink [VM-001]
Anti Static Bag [99512]
Stampendous Cutting Border Dies [DCP1009]
Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform [1707e]
Tonic Framed Screens - Blocked Parquet & Garden Trellis Die [1445E]
Tonic Will's Hand Dream Miniature Moments Die Set [1886E]
Tonic Ornate Frame Layering Die Collection [1111E]
Tonic Tangerine machine [138e]
Tonic Easy Clean Craft Mat [1514e]
Mirror Card High Gloss Emerald Green [9454E]
Mirror Card Satin Effect Honey Gold [9487E]
Memento Tuxedo Black ink [ME-900]
Versafine Onyx Black ink [VF-82]
Photo Play Rhapsody Collection Pack [RH2456]
Nuvo Smooth Precision Glue Pen [206N]

I stamped the tractor stamp using my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform, and stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, a Copic friendly ink. I colored it with Copics, and then placed it back inside my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform, inked up the stamp (which I had not removed from the platform!) with Versafine Onyx Black ink, and stamped the tractor again. The Versafine ink is tackier, which allows embossing powder to stick to it. I sprinkled on Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set it. This made the lines really black and dimensional. So cool! I die cut the image using my Tonic Tangerine and then die cut a larger oval from the Mirror Card High Gloss Emerald Green cardstock and layered these together. Awesome! I also die cut some of the Photo Play Rhapsody Collection Pack patterned paper and layered it behind the tractor oval image panel. I also die cut the bottom edge with the Stampendous Cutting Border Dies and also die cut a strip of Mirror Card Satin Effect Honey Gold with the same die to create a framed border.

I blinged up the tractor too! I rolled on some of Nuvo's Smooth Precision Glue Pen onto some areas of the tractor, including the lug nuts. I sprinkled on Reflection glitter and created some extra sparkle on this manly tractor!

I also rolled on some of the Nuvo Smooth Precision Glue Pen onto the flowers, and sprinkled on some Canary flocking and lightly pressed it in. I let it dry, then dusted off the excess. This gave the flowers some extra dimension and made them fuzzy! So adorable!

Although this stamp set has some really fun sentiments, I opted to use a Tonic die for the sentiment instead. I die cut out the sentiment using black cardstock, from the Will's Hand Dream Miniature Moments Die Set. I also die cut the sentiment shadow using the Mirror Card High Gloss Emerald Green.

As I was creating this card, I kept envisioning muddy "tire tracks" since the tractor tires are pretty knobby. They would throw up a lot of dirt and mud ... so I came up with a solution ... I pulled out a die (see more info below!) and created my own stencil to make the tire tracks. I laid it across the bottom portion of my card, and stenciled some embossing paste through the stencil. I moved the stencil around to get multiple, overlapping tire tracks. I sprinkled on several glitters in the (sparkly and awesome!) mud and dirt colors. I used Campfire, Hickory, Rose Gold, and Starry Night. I also splattered on some of the Nuvo Smooth Precision Glue Pen in areas too to get more of a "smear" of dirt and mud to go along with the tire tracks. This part was a lot of fun! I also made some glitter twine. I got a strip of 1/4" Tear-ific Tape and pulled off a short bit of the release paper. I twisted the Tear-ific Tape and then pressed it into some Reflection glitter. I kept removing a small portion of the release tape, twisting it, and then pressing it into the glitter until my whole strip was glittered up and turned into "twine." Demo Donna has a great video on this technique and it sure is a favorite of mine! Also, to finish off the card, I swiped some Versamark ink along the outer edges of the card panel, and sprinkled on Antiquities embossing powder and heat set it. This gave a bit of a rustic edge to the card panel which is really cool in person!

Here is a photo of the "stencil" I made using a piece of white cardstock. I die cut the tire treads using a die from the Tonic Ornate Frame Layering Die Collection. This die cut out the negative spaces which were perfect to be repurposed into tire treads!

This was a really fun card to make ... anybody who has had to drive any rig through the soft spring dirt will instantly feel the warm breeze and mud on their face!

I can't wait to see what you create. Remember to post your creation in our Creative Challenge on Facebook.
