Hummingbird Thanks Card (05/15/2015)

Okay, another day, another hummingbird on a card :)

I used Sparkle N Sprinkle's Hummingbird 1 Stamp Set 540 (00-540P5) for the hummingbird and hibiscus flower. I used Sparkle N Sprinkle's Thanks Stamp Set 577 (00-577P7) for the "Many Thanks" sentiment and butterfly. I used the Lawn Fawn Flirty Frames Lawn Cuts die cut for the label shape around the sentiment.

I colored in the images with Copic markers and distress inks. I layered some patterned paper over card stock, and added Sparkle N Sprinkle's 1/4" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape (SAT01) in strips toward the top and bottom of the panel. Then, I covered that awesome adhesive with my favorite Sparkle N Sprinkle glitter: Luau Green Velvet Glitter (microfine) (GM2004). Check out a close up:

I also used some Sparkle N Sprinkle Daisy Velvet Glitter (Microfine) Semi-transparent (GM2019) over the flower. Since this is a semi-transparent glitter, it allowed the Copic colors to shine through, with a whole lot of sparkle from the Daisy glitter!

A simple Thank You sentiment from the Thanks set finished off the inside of the card and this bad boy was done!

Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!

Butterfly Ribbon Card (05/13/2015)

Today's card has a butterfly, ribbon, and sparkles! Oh My!

I used some of Lawn Fawn's patterned paper for the card panel. I used Lawn Fawn's Stitched Scalloped Borders die and cut another piece of patterned paper as well. I layered these two together, and wrapped them with a huge black ribbon from my stash. I also stamped out and Copic colored a butterfly from Lawn Fawn's Flutter By stamp set. I stamped and colored the butterfly, and fussy cut it out right against the outline edge. I also covered the entire image with versamark ink, and used Sparkle N Sprinkle's Sparkle Semi-Transparent Embossing Powder (EP107). This really made the butterfly pop! I also used the matching die set to cut out the image (without stamping it) as a matting layer. I also used the die cut to trace around the outer edge of the die to cut out the vellum layer. I totally scraplifted this idea from Jennifer McGuire's recent blog post. Thanks Jennifer for the inspiration!

I also stamped the same butterfly inside the card, with a sentiment from the same Flutter By stamp set.

I love the layering of the butterfly, and the way the Sparkle embossing powder catches the light. I hope my friend enjoys her card :)

Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!

Make a Wish Birthday (05/11/2015)

Today's card is a fun one - and it has a castle :)

I was asked to make a card for a coworkers birthday and today is the big day! We are celebrating as a group, and I was honored to make this card for my friend and coworker.

I completely scraplifted this idea, from Lawn Fawn's blog. I changed it up a LITTLE, but loved this card idea so much, I wanted to replicate it. It also gave me a chance to make the ethereal background with my new Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors. That was fun! After watercoloring the background, I spritzed it with some pearl shimmer spray for extra sparkle. That is hard to see in the photos - but trust me, it is awesome in real life! I also die cut out the watercolored card panel and the inside the card panels using Lawn Fawn's Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables lawn cuts.

I stamped out and colored the dragon, castle, stars, and wand from Lawn Fawn's Critters Ever After set. I also needed some big clouds, so I used the tree stamp set from Lawn Fawn's Critters in the 'Burbs set. I stamped out just the top of the tree and trimmed it out, turned it upside down and had a puffy cloud! I colored the edge with a light blue Copic marker, then covered the whole cloud with Clear  Wink of Stella glitter pen for some extra sparkle. I also Winked the Dragon wings:
and the castle door:

and I stamped out the inside too. Just a simple sentiment from Lawn Fawn's So Much To Say set.

Happy Birthday Susan!

Hello Birthday Girl (05/08/2015)

Today's card makes me happy! Let's get right to it, shall we?

I used several Alt E New stamp sets for this card: Vintage Roses, Halftone Hello and Invisible Alpha. The Vintage Roses stamp set is a layering stamp set with multiple roses. I used some Memento Luxe Pigment Inks and layered up some roses and leaves on a card panel, along with the sentiment from Halftone Hello.

I matted the card panel with a larger panel edged with gold embossing powder and heat set it, and then added that to my pink card base. I also used gold embossing powder for the "birthday girl" sentiment, which is also from the Halftone Hello set.

I stamped the birthday girl's name with Memento pigment ink using the Invisible Alpha set on the envelope.

And, of course I decorated the inside:

For the inside, I created a card panel using Lawn Fawn's Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables die. Then, I used a combination of a sentiment ("just wanted to say") from Halftone Hello, and Lawn Fawn's So Much To Say ("Happy Birthday").

Once the card was finished, I added some bling from my stash, including sequins, gold spritz, and gold liquid pearls.

This card fills me with joy - the colors, the flowers, everything ... so pretty! It is one of my favorite cards that I have made recently. I love it!

Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!
