Cardz 4 Galz Thankful Card {11.09.2017}

Hi! Today's card for the current Cardz 4 Galz Challenge is a Thankful card. And, because I guess I am extra thankful right now, I made four cards! The design is the same, but I changed up the patterned paper for each card. Here they are.

I started out by trimming some brown cardstock using my Tonic Studio 12" Wide Base Craft Guillotine, and then scoring it for my card base. I cut some card panels to cover the front of the card base, and used a woodgrain embossing folder and ran them through my Cuttlebug to dry emboss them. Then, I die cut some leaves using Lawn Fawn's Stitched Leaves dies. I ink blended the leaves in several shades of yellow, orange, red, and brown distress inks. I also curled them a bit to give them some extra dimension. I also die cut some Lawn Fawn patterned paper (retired petite paper pack) using Lawn Fawn's Stitched Ovals die. I layered the wood grain embossed card panel over the card base, then layered the oval on top of that. I adhered the leaves and the sentiment panel. Here is a close up of the distressed leaves.

For the sentiment, I used Lawn Fawn's (sadly, also retired) So Thankful stamp set. I treated my paper with my Anti Static Bag, then placed my paper into my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform (AWESOME tool!), inked up the stamp with Versamark Ink, stamped the sentiment, then sprinkled on White Detail embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle, and heat set it. I trimmed the sentiment using Lawn Fawn's Stitched Ovals die set, and adhered this to the card as well.

I look forward to what you create for this challenge, and I can't wait to see all the fabulous cards! 'Tis the season to be grateful and thankful.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a magical day!

-Chris

  1. Hi, Chris! Beautiful card quartet! I like how the similar sketch was used for each card, but the change in papers and leafy arrangements totally creates a new feel to each one! Lovely! xx
