I made a birthday card for a co-worker, and just had to use Sparkle N Sprinkle's new Honey Bees Stamp Set 775P5. Let's buzz by and check it out.
Hard to tell in this photo, but you will see below ... there is a lot of depth to this card, and the hive is on an Action Wobble too. I stamped out the hive image and did a second image to pop up the flowers. I also stamped out the bees and their flight trails with Versamark Ink [VM-001] on Embossable Clear Acetate [99602]. I dusted on Tuscan Sun Embossing Powder [EP414], and then heat set them. I fussy cut out the bees and trails, and then adhered them to the back of the hive. I mounted the hive, flowers, and the bees on an action wobble. I wasn't able to capture it in a still photo ... but the hive and bees wobble when the card is moved. It is really fun in real life!
For the flowers, I stamped out the image a second time, and after coloring all the images, I fussy cut out the flowers and popped them up over the full image. This made the flowers pop and have a lot of dimension.
Kinda hard to tell, but I also embossed the front panel with a honeycomb pattern and layered it across the front of the card for added pizazz.
I also stamped the inside. I stamped some of the honeycomb images, and the "hap-bee birthday" sentiment on the inside.
And, because I had to allow for the dimension on the front for the action wobble, I created a box for the front of the card. It folds flat inside the envelope, but when the card is open and standing up, it has this dimension:
This was a fun card to make, and my work peeps really liked it. I hope you enjoyed it too!
Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!
Chris
Super cute! Love the wobble idea and the honeycomb background.
