Thanks Friend {03.30.2016}

This little card is to thank a friend of mine for being incredibly awesome ... Let's say hello:

I partial die cut a doggie image, and trimmed the slope around the partial die cut. I layered this black cut cardstock over a panel I had masked off and distress inked the background to make a sunset and sun image.

I stamped and silver heat embossed the sentiment at the base of the black card front.
Here is another angle of the background.

My friend is awesome, and I so appreciate her friendship, kindness, guidance, and advice. She is amazing

Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!

Dolphin Birthday Card {03.28.2016}

Today's card was one I did for my Mom's birthday, and realized recently that I hadn't posted it yet. So, here it is:

I made a box card, and decorated all the sides and flaps with ocean critters and seaside images. My mom LOVES dolphins, so the dolphin is front and center! Here is a closeup of the dolphin:
I used several Lawn Fawn stamp sets for this card, including Critters in the Sea, Life is Good, and Fintastic Friends. I used a lot of Sparkle N Sprinkle glitters too, including Blue Jewel, Bubble Gum, Fascination, Easy Green, and Evening Glow. I also used Sparkle N Sprinkle's Sparkling Sands Sparkle N Soft, and Pearl Mesh Small pearls.
I adhered glitter using Sparkle N Sprinkle's 2-1/2" Double-sided Tear-ific Tape, by adhering the tape over cardstock or patterned paper, removing the release paper on the top, and pressing glitter into the tape with my finger tool. I cut the glitter paper to the shape and size I needed. It made a beautiful background!
I did the same as above for the sand on the bottom panels of the box card. I used Sparkling Sands Sparkle N Soft, and pressed in some pearls and colored stamped images.
On the flaps, I added glitter as the ocean for the background, and more Lawn Fawn images on top of those. Here are some shots of the flaps.
And another one.
This card is hard to photograph and show the whole thing, but here is a shot to help show the dimension of the top portion and all the little images poking up.
 Here is another angle of the top.

And, I made an envelope for the card using my envelope maker and some patterned paper, and used more glitters over die cut cardstock letters.
This card was so much prettier in real life, these photos do not show it justice! I know Mom loved it, and I hope you enjoyed it too.

Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!

Sparkly Stylin' Sayings {03.23.2016}

Hi! I gotta tell ya, I LOOOOOVE Sparkle N Sprinkle's new Demo Donna's Stylin' Sayings Stamp Set 777. The sayings and fonts are perfect! Today's card used the "Sparkle" sentiment (because, yes, we can never get enough sparkle in our lives!), the brush marks, and the sweet little splatters from this stamp set. Let's get right to it!

16-0323_01_Sparkle_Front
I stamped out the brush marks in multiple ink colors, with both first generation and second generation stamping. I did this to create a bit of a transition between the colors as they moved down the page. Not quite an ombre effect, but I wanted the colors to blend together a bit.
After stamping the brush marks, I stamped the "Sparkle" sentiment with Versamark Ink Pad (VM001) and then heat embossed Silver Lightning Embossing Powder EP262. The silver embossing really stood out over the multi-colored background! Here is another shot of the silver embossing.

16-0323_02_Sparkle_MeshStrip
I also wanted to add some dimension and more color, so I created a rose from some die cuts, and then brushed on some Brushable Glue 540 onto the rose petals, and sprinkled Bridal Glitter [G1029] onto the petals. This made them seem dewy and sparkly. Once the rose was ready to go, I laid down a strip of 1/2" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape [SAT04], pressed in a strip of Diamond Mesh Green [MON6]. Then, I sprinkled on more Bridal Glitter [G1029] and pressed it into the rest of the "tear-ific" tape with my finger tool.

16-0323_03_Sparkle_Rose

I have been known to keep adding when I make cards, and this was no exception. I really liked where I was going, but wanted MORE! Thus, I pulled out the little splat stamp image from the stamp set, and stamped the splats several times with Versamark Ink Pad (VM001). I then added in some Firecracker Red Embossing Powder [EP291] and heat embossed it. I repeated this process with more Silver Lightning Embossing Powder EP262, Daffodil Embossing Powder [EP217] and Pink Lady Embossing Powder [EP337]. These gave some nice splats across the colored brush marks and added a little pizazz :) I also swiped the Versamark Ink Pad (VM001) along the edges of the card panel and added even more Silver Lightning Embossing Powder EP262. This made for lots of nice dimension and texture, and pops of color.

Here is another angle of the multi-colored splats.

And, even more. I like how the embossed splats stand out over all different background inks. This stamp image is the perfect little embellishment to add a little something-something. I love it! Check out how that Firecracker Red Embossing Powder [EP291] pops across the page!

I hope you find Demo Donna's Stylin' Sayings Stamp Set 777 as fun as versatile as I have! ... I know you will!

St. Patrick's Day Lucky Charm {03.16.2016}

Today's card is Lucky! It is another Sparkle N Sprinkle new release for March. I love the lucky horseshoe :) Let's peek closer.

This card was made from Sparkle N Sprinkle's Lucky Charm Stamp Set 776P5. The image is actually designed with the ends of the horseshoe pointing down, but in my culture, good luck is held in the horseshoe if the ends point UP, so I inverted the horseshoe for this card. I stamped the image on white cardstock, with Versamark ink pad, and heat embossed Silver Lightning Embossing Powder [EP262] on the horseshoe. I used Forest Green Embossing Powder [EP282] on the shamrock clovers. I then stamped it again on a second sheet of paper. I colored both images with Copic markers, and then fussy cut the second image and layered it over the original image. I also stamped out the ribbon multiple times, and colored and fussy cut them. I added a lot of ribbon, to what is now the upper right area, so that it wasn't pointing the wrong direction. You can see the multiple ribbons in this photo.

Because I had multiple images, I also colored and fussy cut out the clovers. I used dimensional foam adhesive and layered the shamrock clovers over the ones on the base panel. I also decorated the shamrock clovers a little bit. I squeezed a drop of Brushable Glue 540 into the center of each, placed one Diamond Green Mesh - Mon 6 [MON6] in the center, and sprinkled some Easy Green Semi-Transparent Glitter [G1077] around too.

The shamrock clovers were also popped up over the horseshoe to give even more dimension.

I decorated the card with some Pull Ribbon MONR31 - Lime 3 Silver 1 [MONR31] ribbon. This stuff is so awesome! I cut about a 12 inch piece, and then grabbed the two string ends, and PULLED! This makes the ribbon pull into a nice, beautiful, easy bow. I decorated the center of the pull ribbon bow with this flower from my stash. I added little drops of Brushable Glue 540 all over the rose, and added in sprinkles of Easy Green Semi-Transparent Glitter [G1077] to make it look dewy and sparkly.

I stamped out this sentiment and heat embossed it with Forest Green Embossing Powder [EP282], then I distress inked over it and then die cut it and a frame. I edged the frame with Forest Green Embossing Powder [EP282] as well. I also added a line of Pearl Mesh - Small [MON21]. This framed the sentiment really well!

Here is another shot of the ribbons that I stamped, embossed, and layered around the edge of the horseshoe. I love how the Silver Lightning Embossing Powder [EP262] really sparkles!

And, one more shot of the card, for good luck! This card has a lot of green and sparkle, just right up my alley!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!

Bunny Tree {03.14.2016}

Hopping down the bunny trail! Easter bunnies make me happy. Let's check out one just for fun.
I started out by doing a light water color wash on water color paper. Then, I stamped out some Lawn Fawn bunnies, nest, eggs, and tree on other paper, and fussy cut them all. I used a lot of Lawn Fawn patterned paper from my stash that might be retired now. Yes, I am a paper hoarder!

I also used some thread in my stash to do a messy pile under the nest. Here is a close up of the nest area.

I decorated the inside of the card too - I stamped the hopping bunny and then re-stamped the image without reinking the stamp to make it look like the bunny is actually hopping along. This is what it looked like.

The "last" bunny on the far right was also covered in Wink of Stella clear marker. I love the subtle shine this gives. The photo doesn't quite do it justice, it was really sparkly in real life.

I colored everything with copic markers. This card was really fun. I love bunnies, and these make me happy!

Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!

Bright Spring Butterfly with Resist Technique {03.11.2016}

Spring is springing ... and this butterfly just leaps off the page!

I also stamped out a circle background stamp from my stash with Versamark ink and heat embossed Clear Detail Embossing Powder [EP280]. Afterwards, I also distress inked the background. The clear embossed circles resisted the ink and stayed light. This made a really interesting background. After distressing, I wiped the panel with a dry paper towel to remove any remaining ink sitting on top of the clear embossing powder. This helps reveal the color a bit more.

I used Lawn Fawn's Flutter By stamp set, and stamped out one of the butterflies with Versamark Ink and Sparkle N Sprinkle's Black Detail Embossing Powder [EP171]. I distress inked the image, and then fussy cut it. I squeezed on a little bit of glitter glue to make the butterfly body pop just a bit more. I adhered the butterfly to the panel, and dashed a flight line with a black pen.

I also layered on a ribbon, and covered part of it with a sentiment banner. This pretty much finished off this quick & simple card.
Spring is here, and this card makes me so happy. I can't wait to see more flowers and butterflies!

Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!

Honey Bee Sweeter Than Honey {03.09.2016}

Hi! I have a fun dimensional and interactive card today. The Sparkle N Sprinkle March Reveal stamps are so much fun! I used the Honey Bees Stamp Set 775-P5 stamp set for today's card. Let's check it out:

Sweeter Than Honey
I stamped the images and used Copic markers to color the images. I also stamped several of the larger bees with Versamark Ink [VM-001] and heat embossed Black Detail Embossing Powder EP171. I also stamped out the same bee on Embossable Clear Acetate [99602] also used Versamark Ink [VM-001] and heat embossed Black Detail Embossing Powder EP171. I fussy cut out the bee on cardstock, and fussy cut out the wings on the acetate. I adhered the acetate wings onto the bee, and then used the Sakura Glue Pen [Quicky] to add glue to the inside of the wings. Then, I sprinkled on Princess Elsa Frost glitter G1121 onto the wings too. This gave them a really nice soft sparkle.
16-0309_02_SweeterThanHoney_Hive
I used the "You are Sweeter than Honey" sentiment. I stamped it onto cardstock using Versamark Ink [VM-001] and heat embossed Tuscan Sun Embossing Powder EP414. I die cut out the sentiment with a label die, and cut a larger one to frame it. I swiped the edges with Versamark Ink [VM-001] and heat embossed Tuscan Sun Embossing Powder EP414. I dry embossed the front card panel with a honeycomb impression, and also stamped the honeycomb stamp with Versamark Ink [VM-001] and heat embossed Tuscan Sun Embossing Powder EP414 to add honeycomb images across the honeycomb texture. I did this on the sides of the card too.

16-0309_03_SweeterThanHoney_Sentiment
The hive image has these fun little bees flying by it. I stamped them with Versamark Ink [VM-001] onto Embossable Clear Acetate [99602] and cardstock and heat embossed Black Detail Embossing Powder EP171. I fussy cut out the bees and their flight trails. I fussy cut out the bee body from the cardstock, and layered the cardstock body onto the acetate bee. I repeated the Sakura Glue Pen [Quicky] trick and added glue to the wings. Then, I sprinkled on Princess Elsa Frost glitter G1121 onto the wings too. These sweet little wings were all sparkly in real life!
I also added more sparkle to the background. I used a cloud die cut from my stash and cut out some clouds. I distress inked the edges, and covered the clouds with Sparkle Semi-Transparent Embossing Powder [E107] and heat embossed them.

16-0309_04_SweeterThanHoney_Bees
I put the hive and flowers on an action wobble, so the hive and bees flutter when the card moves. It is really fun in real life. Because of the action wobble, I needed dimension for this card. This shot helps show the edge of the card and the 1" depth. 16-0309_05_SweeterThanHoney_Dimension
Another fun image in this set is a solid bee. I stamped it with Versamark Ink [VM-001] onto Embossable Clear Acetate [99602] and heat embossed Black Detail Embossing Powder EP171. I fussy cut him out and pasted him onto the background. Also, this photo doesn't capture it well, but after I created the grassy background with Copics, I also used the Sakura Glue Pen [Quicky] to add some random swipes of glue, and then sprinkled on Glistening Emerald Sparkle N Soft [SS102] to some grass blades. This gave a little extra pop to the grass in the background. I also added another layer to the flowers, and added in some Rapture Blue [G1078] glitter.

16-0309_06_SweeterThanHoney_SolidBee
Here is another photo of the card. It really came together well, and the depth and movement is really fun. 16-0309_07_SweeterThanHoney_FullFront
This card makes me happy. I hope you enjoyed it too!

Bee Birthday {03.07.2016}

I made a birthday card for a co-worker, and just had to use Sparkle N Sprinkle's new Honey Bees Stamp Set 775P5. Let's buzz by and check it out.
Hard to tell in this photo, but you will see below ... there is a lot of depth to this card, and the hive is on an Action Wobble too. I stamped out the hive image and did a second image to pop up the flowers. I also stamped out the bees and their flight trails with Versamark Ink [VM-001] on Embossable Clear Acetate [99602]. I dusted on Tuscan Sun Embossing Powder [EP414], and then heat set them. I fussy cut out the bees and trails, and then adhered them to the back of the hive. I mounted the hive, flowers, and the bees on an action wobble. I wasn't able to capture it in a still photo ... but the hive and bees wobble when the card is moved. It is really fun in real life!
For the flowers, I stamped out the image a second time, and after coloring all the images, I fussy cut out the flowers and popped them up over the full image. This made the flowers pop and have a lot of dimension.
Kinda hard to tell, but I also embossed the front panel with a honeycomb pattern and layered it across the front of the card for added pizazz.

I also stamped the inside. I stamped some of the honeycomb images, and the "hap-bee birthday" sentiment on the inside.

And, because I had to allow for the dimension on the front for the action wobble, I created a box for the front of the card. It folds flat inside the envelope, but when the card is open and standing up, it has this dimension:
This was a fun card to make, and my work peeps really liked it. I hope you enjoyed it too!

Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!

Glittery Rosey Thanks {03.04.2016}

Today's little creation is just that ... little! I whipped out this quick Thank You tag for a friend:

My friend did a good deed, so I wanted to make a little something to thank her, along with a giftie of a dark chocolate bar. I had recently purchased these gorgeous pink and gray papers, which perfectly matched the candy bar wrapper. I die cut two of the patterned paper with circle die cuts, and then stamped Lawn Fawn's Chit Chat birdie and thanks sentiment in Sparkle N Sprinkle embossing powders. I used Firecracker Red Embossing Powder [EP291] for the thanks sentiment, and Blue Silver Embossing Powder [EP446] for the birdie.
b

I also had a left over rose from the SNS March Reveal project I did for THIS CARD. This red rose was perfect for this project too. I used Festive Berries and Abandoned Coral distress inks. The glitter is Gypsy Red Velvet Glitter (microfine) [GM2005].

Easy peasy, simple, and hopefully she will know how much I appreciate her and what she has done

Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!
