Today's card was fairly fast and easy, and a little bit different for me. Let's check it out!
I was recently in Washington DC, and the Cherry Blossom Festival was in full "bloom" and I wanted to commerate that event with a little card as a thank you. I used two Memory Box dies, Woodland Branch and Fancy Blossoms. I cut two branches from brown cardstock, and used several scrap pink cardstock and patterned paper for the flower blossoms. I added dimension to my flowers with some stylus balls and shaping mat.
I made the card from white cardstock, inspired by Wendy's recent card at Stampadoodle. I cut an oval using Spellbinders Classic Ovals die. I then cut a strip of paper about 1-1/4" wide, placed it across the oval from left edge to right edge, and cut that. I scored the strip on the far left edge, layered the oval strip over the oval base, and adhered the strip on top of the oval base. This became my "top" of the card which can swing open to reveal the hand-written note.
Then, I layered the branches over the oval strip, and placed my cherry blossoms on the branches, then gave a little sparkle of Star Dust stickles inside the blossoms for a little extra somethin'-somethin'!!
All in all, this came together really quickly, and I used scraps for all of this!
Happy Cherry Blossom Festival!
Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!
Chris
